Oh look who ran into side effects of estrogen and thinks it's a side effect of low estrogen.

What the fuck did he mean by this, Kiwis?
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Alt-Linux, is in fact, GNU/Alt-Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Alt-Linux. Alt-Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Alt-Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Alt-Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Alt-Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Alt-Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Alt-Linux added, or GNU/Alt-Linux. All the so-called "Alt-Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Alt-Linux.

I'm reminded of that one braindead article somebody wrote about alternative music genres being racist simply for having "alt-" as a prefix for many subgenres.

Had to have been written by a fucking zoomer. In the '90s the most popular non-pop genre was called "alternative" or "alt-rock." That was Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

You'd think that... but no.

I was only made aware of this article because Anthony Fantano did a Stinkpiece video on it.

OP doesn't note this, but his middle name "Ada" was chosen after the ostensibly "first programmer" (woman) Ada Lovelace. She didn't actually program shit, but it's a favorite "women in tech" talking point. To make this your actual legal middle name, sure signifies some commitment.

In plain English, he is the only cow who can truthfully claim that lunacy is his middle name.

Ada Lovelace still did more than this troon.
Grace Hopper is a better namesake tho

Which is why it's very appropriate for a troon. Why pick the woman with actual accomplishments when you can pick the one who has the glory but did none of the work for it? Which also makes it a particularly appropriate choice for this troon.

What's that with some people who don't understand that insurance is not sold when a house is already on fire?
Also that thing with "ableism" and "sanism", why would one want to be surrounded by people who can break down at any moment?
