Police respond to active shooter situation at King Soopers in Boulder
The Boulder Police Department is warning people to stay away from the King Soopers store at 3600 Table Mesa Drive because of an active shooter at the store.

Department officials tweeted the warning at 2:49 p.m. A public information officer was on their way to the scene. Further information was not immediately provided.

The King Soopers anchors a large shopping center in the southern part of Boulder, a few blocks from Fairview High School.

I believe the VA tech shooter was Korean and holds the gold for the school shooter category.

Then we have Nadal Hassan the Muslim and Brown Army psychiatrist that shot up his own base in Texas.

A UPS logistics center shooter was Chinese too I believe.

Just imagine how many shootings we could stop if we could enact something that judges a potential gun owner based on his character and mental state.

Mental health commitment is already checked but I oppose any attempt to require testing. Most medical professional organizations are against guns and would encourage their members not to offer any assessment. The ones that do would have a captive market and charge exorbitant rates. Even getting an appointment with one of them could be difficult due to how in demand they are.

Not being sarcastic but is this like a joke? Or tongue-in-cheek? Because some of the most dangerous cities in American have the strictest gun laws and the most gun violence. The only things these laws do is restrict a law abiding citizens right defend theirselves as most dangerous and unhinged people have already had their gun rights taken away or suspended in one form or fashion.

There has been some psychological work put into why people don't flee for the hills during shootings. You'll see them exiting the store at a brisk walk (think the El Paso footage from four years ago) or milling around out front in the danger phone (like today's) when they should be on the other side of that parking lot and still heading further away. We just aren't well equipped to process that somewhere where we normally feel safe (a well lit supermarket or school, etc) isn't and that we should be in flight. If you don't actively see the "bear" your heart isn't going to pump, you won't get that big shot of adrenaline, etc.
