Mad respect to Flare for not giving a fuck.

I hadn't watched much of Flareon before, and I always wondered why the other members called her the cool one. Now I can see, and I get why Noel is so protective of her. This also shows one of the things I think attracts a lot of people to the holo streamers as opposed to traditional streamers, is she actually cares about the non-paying viewers chat, and apologizes for making it members only. Some of the bigger twitch streamers leave their chat on members only by default, and don't really care about viewers who aren't paying them.

This is completely out of the blue, but I have a few personal rrats about Tokino Sora that I'd like to get your opinions on. They are based on absolutely nothing, but this thread is just too damn wholesome so I have to participate

1. I still don't buy her being just 20. My only proof is her liking Inuyasha. I know young people can like old things, but when someone asked her (in an English stream I think) about her favorite anime, she didn't hesitate at all and I don't buy a 20-year-old liking early 2000's anime. She also just had a singing stream where she sang one of its theme songs so that's why I started thinking about this again.
People talked about her being 20 because A-chan is 20 because she just had her first beer, and they are the same age. I do believe they are the same age and old school friends, but I think Cover is lying to us. They know they are supposed to be the same age, and Sora is supposed to be 20 because she debuted 3 years ago as a 17-year-old, so they had A-chan try beer for the "first time" on her birthday stream. I have no opinion on that one woman who people believed was her VA, can't remember her name, and I also understand getting someone young for your first vtuber experiment, instead of someone well established and therefore, more expensive. But, I just don't like the idea of fangirling someone over a decade younger than me, makes me feel dirty.

2. Do you think she is just sort of awkward, as a person? She has long pauses in her talking and game streams, she complains about not knowing what to talk about, she seems sort of awkward around the other girls, and the only reason she got into a group picture with the others was because Aki noticed her hiding in the bushes during their Minecraft Olympics and literally dragged her in. It might be part of the senpai-kohai obsession Japanese people have and the odd reverence all the others have for her, but even playing alone she doesn't seem to banter all that naturally. The only time she seems to be in her element is when she's performing. She's a good singer, has no trouble filling dead air in between songs, and I haven't seen any live stage events, but I seem to remember people saying she's also a good dancer.

TLDR: I take this shit way too seriously

Damn moonrunes, whose bright idea was it to use Kanji. Luna's struggling reading her own language in Monster Hunter.
You can tell its an inferior language when they have an accepted practice of adding a guide to tell speakers of their own language how to say 80% of its characters. I noticed that when watching people play super mario odyssey in japanese, half the chinese characters had guides above them.

She can play bloodstained thou. I never play the game but the boss fight so lit. I really like the metaphor of Sariel is in this game.

Edit : Anya snapped out about why people want her to play RFA. She didn't want to play RFA but she want to play monhun rise. I think she knew what viewer think about RFA and it could be she's hikki too.

You would expect a sharp tongue from a knife-tuber. To the indians in the thread, does that actually make sense to you that she "is" a kris? I feel like a "katana" vtuber would be weird to japanese viewers even though the sword is culturally significant to them. Also, how dark on average are the ID girl's skins? Are we talking "suntanned tomboy", "hello this is microsoft tech support" or "they look japanese/chinese"?

Can we get pekora to play the resident evil or metal gear pachinko games? After the SEC cracked down on CS:GO skin gambling there's been a hole in the market for marketing gambling to children on youtube.

Horni no more, just happy

Also my suspicions were correct and Calli want to make a Tabletop RPG sessions like her sempais, they are still deciding the system (and probably the campaign)

I will just leave this here for no reason at all

I wanted to go deeper into why is it so hard for Polka to read her supachats, so I found an interview her roommate did in her previous indie iteration.

The interview

Although this was 2 years ago and things might have changed since, she's much more comfortable with creatively thought ideas pre-recorded and edited. Obviously switching to something like Cover meant she most likely had to negotiate her streams per week; mandatory ARK/horse gacha for stuff she wants to do. I used to think she was behind her peers when it came to streams given how low her engagement rate is, but it turns out she knows exactly what she's doing.
The clown just needs to find a pack of oil barons within that niche, like Rushia did.

I'd love to see a Payday 2 collab. The game itself is subpar imo but its a fantastic hectic co-op experience.

I know she got some hate for a while because of some of the drama around her debut and stuff.

But I gotta admit, that Amatsuka Uto is pretty darn adorable, and she sings cutely, too.

It’s too bad they’re not all in the same room, because I feel like they could do something interesting with Dread. But there’s no good way to do it with 5 different Jenga towers.

what is considered as weird by the japs? I mean it is the japs man. a lot of weird shit presented in their entertainment media.

dunno about the ID's skins, but Indon is pretty diverse.
here is Indon presidents, all of them are javanese, except the third one. Assuming that the ID girls is the part of major ethnicity. lol.

My money is on Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, now with wheelchair accessible dungeons. Not all that stoked about that, but it is the most likely system they're going to play. It's the "household name" at this point.

Not ID, but an amateur mythologist. In the traditions of Indonesia (especially Java), the kris is more than a weapon, but is believed to be a repository for magical powers or holy or ancestral spirits. Kris used to be passed down from generation to generation in families, with claims that they could make the skin invulnerable to arrows, make the bearer fearless, kill enemies in a single blow, and the like. A Vtuber that's the personification of a kris's spiritual power could definitely make cultural sense.

A quote from the article:
I earn tens of millions of yen right now, but my goal this year is to earn a hundred million.
I can't tell if this is a joke/translation issue, at this point in time she has 137,000 subscribers. Ten million yen is ~$92,000 which seems high . Later on she clarifies that the bulk of this is payments from corporate sponsored things, whether that's producing videos or going to events, but that's a stretch when she claims "tens of millions"

I would be surprised if any of the hologirls had gotten away with a million dollars yet, given all of the people and taxes they have to cut in. I'm sure they make more than they would like to let on, but this feels like kind of like a boast to me.

Again, maybe its the translation but she comes off as having kind of a bad attitude in this interview, I like the Polka persona better.

Lmao.
“Can’t obsessed with someone a decade younger” probably not in gachikoi languages.

Remembered ClariS? they debuted over a decade ago when they just start middle school and had been keeping their identity secret until recently (Damn, Sony missed a huge chance of turning them into Vsinger instead of unmasking them back in late 2019 and early 2020).

In Sora’s case, she can either too young (just turn 20) or too old (the sus VA, Aoyama), there’s no middle ground. This can also explain how she feel awkward toward other members who’s way older than her yet she the most senior. On the other hand, her awkwardness can also stems from her being in her mid to late 30s and almost a decade older than majority of them (except Haachama and Shion who was still teenagers). Marine despite her meme about being old, yet she’s definitely a 90s kid and not 80s kid.

If it's something like Big Corporate, like the curry Nishin ad that Donald Duck, Pekora and the Onion did, I could see it happening. Those shit-tier gachas are backed by what amounts to a glorified casino scam, so they also have their pockets lined up in dosh. The thing is how many of those do they have to do to get permission for their own personal projects.

This would explain the slow in-company growth of the EN girls, since in the US whenever companies push a product, they'll turn to hollywood first, then pop music stars and finally instagram influencers, in that order. Virtual idols don't show up on their radar yet.

Either way you are right, her roommate comes off as really cold and calculating, which is a good thing in the dark-company environment she's gotten into.

If Ame wasn't too busy with packing for her move I could definitely see her set something up like different backdrops, effects, etc. Since it won't be an offcollab and Ame seems to like doing that sort of stuff if you look at her Date streams.
