He’ll make a load of money, probably be a mainstream lefty talking head for a year or two (a la Munroe Bergdorf, or Ash Sarkar) before getting left behind by grown-up politics and starting the Spoony Spiral. I think it finally occurred to me why I don't like this guy so much (I refuse to play along with his little game and pretend he's a woman, sorry). You can listen to his accent, look at his name (Oliver or "Olly"), even look at his face and just tell he comes from a cossetted upper-middle class background, he's had a silver spoon in his mouth from the moment he was born. So when he dismissively labels movements that are overwhelmingly supported by working class people as being nothing more than racist or bigoted and justifies violent opposition to it as "anti-fascism", it's actually an insidious form of class warfare (or as he himself may call it, "punching down"). Despite labelling himself a "breadtuber" there's nothing left-wing about him, he's a liberal through and through. That's why he focuses on frivolous identity politics like transgenderism, there's no actual class analysis in any of his works because it would expose him for the fraud he is.

And of course there's the fact that his videos just suck. There's no substance to them. He presents shitty strawman arguments and then doesn't even do a convincing job of knocking them down. Just like with Contrapoints his main concern seems to be playing dress-up and promoting himself. If he and Contra were more honest they wouldn't be pretending to make political content on YouTube, they'd have an Onlyfans.

I think this guy has some serious identity issues. People like that seem to be more likely to troon out, try on a new identity in a sense and get rid of the baggage of their old self. Also, some people with those issues tend to project onto others and easily take on the "persona" of a friend group or an admired person. In this case, it seems like the identity crisis turned into both the troon out and literally taking on someone else's identity at once.

Olly is one of the only two cows that make my lizardbrain scream 'danger' whenever I see him, the other one being Yaniv. Maybe I'm being exceptional, but everything about him is just off in the worst possible way. Maybe it's the dead eyes. his public statement about trooning out seriously made me MATI. "trans men die waiting for surgeries that cis women get for backpain!". his tone of voice made the pain of women who get breast reduction sound like it's the most trivial thing in the world. same with comparing teenage girls getting abortions to teenage girls and boys getting castrated.

the mask truly slips when he talks about womens health care and how its a burden on trans women. When i first watched the video where he talk about destroying his furniture because hes angry at a girlfriend, it came across as just wrong and odd, almost like that guy that always calls his exes crazy, or the 'good guy' whose actually a complete dick

its mixed, he moaned in his video women who suffering during menopause get hrt before men who want to troon, but then said hes not on it in a stream. honestly i think i when hes not on screen he just reverts back to olly its all a grift, he saw other youtubers gain followers and get more money when they trooned, contra being the main one, but hugo and jake did the same thing when atheist you tube was on the down and they do the same grifting with hugo now hannah. I was at an event with Oliver a couple of years ago and briefly met him. He’s a bit shiny and red in real life so I wonder how much makeup he piles on for his streams and videos. He is absolutely huge as well. I’m a tall cis woman and he towered over me and had a torso at least twice as wide as mine. Any post-transition pictures of him next to cis women will look very interesting .

What was particularly noticeable at the event was just how much he talked over women there. He also largely ignored women who tried to speak to him but was very eager to talk to men. Very unusual for someone who is supposedly a woman and a feminist.

I don’t think so to be honest. He’s trying to scrub any evidence of being born male from the internet, including information about his acting career. He’s even said his agent is working to get him female roles. To me that shows Olly is maybe smart enough to know that breadtube won’t last forever, but not smart enough to know that the trans gimmick will not carry over to real life (theater?) acting.

He implied in his coming out video that he's on HRT, because he claimed that he's been having to wear heavy jackets in his videos to hide his breasts, i.e. because he's been growing them. Though, he seems to be a bit of a liar so I have no idea how much of that is true. It's strange that he would say that and then be all "tee-hee, maybe" regarding HRT in his livestreams.

To be honest, he seems way more obviously narcissistic than ContraPoints. Contra might be one, but you have to look a bit closer at him to see the evidence. With Olly though, the indicators are far more blatant.
