This thread is a middleground safe-haven between the extreme reddit hugbox of r/hololive and the weapons-grade autism of the chans.

At the end of the day, I just want to watch a roleplayed anime girl play a videogame I'm interested in but won't ever have the time to play on my second screen while I do my work and respond to emails on my first screen. I don't give a shit about ASMR and coomer-baiting and have stayed away from chuubas that primarily make that as their main schtick. This thread has been a great secondary supplement to all that with all the useful, collated info on the scene's issues and hijinx both on the EN and JP side. That was me. I still have the domain and hosting purchased, but a lot of work shit came up that made it hard to find time to sit down and work through obscure PHP errors in ancient imageboard codebases. Plus, the farms had a lot of stability and QoL upgrades so the need wasn't as dire when I left it on the table.

you also look at the posts themselves, it's a long thread yes, but the actual posts for the most part are fairly small. I'm probably one of the few people that multiquote and it's not like it's back to back walls of text you have to sift through either, some must have serious ADD to not be able to just skim the pages and skip whole posts.

I don't think any coordinated effort to create a vtuber group will fail due to lack of interest because if nothing else you can astroturf the hell out of it. The most vocal group of vtuber viewers are overwhelming people who find it fun to spam the same catchphrase ad nauseum everywhere like monkeys. Post a bunch of template memes on reddit, make some clickbait clips about boing boing and whatever other shit those people gobble up. They'll love it and they'll do all the rest of the promotional work imitating you.
