I really don't know what she meant (here's the first tweet), but I have seen criticism that Raya, like Avatar, is a mishmash of Asian cultures made for Western audiences, which could dilute the culture it's trying to portray. Pretty sure Asians had that take as well, at least before the movie came out (same with Big Hero 6). I have also seen a lot of YA fantasies that are NOT Asian-inspired be criticized as "basically ATLA," usually meaning they rely too heavily on elemental magic and don't have enough of their own flavor. A case of Lindsay trying to be pithy instead of precise, which means people don't know what she means by "basically ATLA" and are reading race into it.
I’m Hispanic and feel the same. I’ve always found it interesting how it seems like a lot of them don’t seem to have any non-white friends or even associates despite being so outspoken lol. She gets what she deserves here but I also find it pretty crazy that just saying the wrong thing about a Disney movie for kids is enough to get somebody canceled.

I might be going off topic, but it's why I tend to not view "forced diversity" with a single attitude, and judge shit made by spoiled white bitches and stuff made by actual minorities on different levels.
