Another poster referred to this as a "warning shot" against Ellis, and I think I agree. Next time she steps out of line, the mob will hit her even harder and dredge up this interaction as an example of Ellis' innate "badness" or whatever. The writing on the wall says that she probably won't last long before another controversy comes up. There is a ton of bad blood around Ellis, and everyone is chomping at the bit to take her down.
Movieblob absolutely had it coming and still does. Lindsay also has this coming for unrelated reasons. It's fucking hilarious when this happens to a proponent of cancel culture, and even more so when they're transparently being cancelled for literally nothing.
