That's not what they were doing. Ethan and May were there to collect May's things and they were recording them, ralph and them insults. Ralph got butthurt and was posturing and telling them to leave the door open, they did to behave tough not backing down from Ralph's clear threatening behavior, Ralph comes in to double down on his tough guy act, and gets punched.
Also funny they were was calling ralph short, but when Ralph got up close on them, he looked taller than Riley, pretty ironic.
At the end of the day they all acted like spergs and it's been enjoyable to watch. In terms of legality nothing is going to happen to either of them most likely, if Riley and Co wanted to press charges, they shouldn't have taunted and let ralph into the home without telling him to leave. Ralph deserved to get punched at that point, but they played into it getting to that point, so the Law isn't going to do anything about it.
