Anna o' Brien / Glitter + Lazers / GlitterandLazers - Fat, drunk, consoomer attention whore who would rather eat and drink herself to death than endure a single negative emotion

okay so i just watched the mystery box video, and i think maybe part of the reason why she's acting so weird (in both the video and her recent house search shit things) is bc her dad cut off the money for a lot more than just the new house. i've seen it mentioned that the reason she's acting so odd about the house searching is bc daddy isn't paying for it - but i think the behavior anna is exhibiting in the video could be evidence that she's having to think abt money as something she actually controls and has to like contribute (or whatever the word is).

in the video she does a few things that i haven't really seen her do before, or at least nothing to the extent/realness she's done before ->
  • she is constantly actually complaining about the amount of money each piece was, whereas in other videos (based on my shitty memory mind u) she sometimes just sprinkles in 'oh this top is $100, but it's good quality and the color's gorgeous' randomly to seem totally relatable - but here it seemed more real (idk what the right word is, maybe more believable), like she now actually has to pay attention to the money she's spending now (i.e. her mentioning this shit was a business expense).
  • and she also seemed pretty mad throughout the video, like mad-mad (i.e. as mentioned above, the poop dress, and freakout over the ill fitting shirt dress thing), and i've seen her like smug mad (ala the luluroe video wherein she complains, and then she gets praised for her opinions) but not like weird manic mad that was exbited here.
both things (imo) could easily lead down to the reasoning that daddy said i ain't giving u shit anymore, and now she's having to suddenly shift from how she used to act - therefore the weird behaviors and attitude she seems to have now, also, just a note, but - (i know this might be obvious to people, but it wasn't me till i sat down to write this) i think the anger she's showing in the video is like the anger she feels towards (1) her father (for putting this stress on her by taking away the money, and/or not paying for a whole house) and (2) her weight (she's been presenting herself for a while as someone who's trying to lose weight, but imo i think she's gained (in the video she looked pretty huge) and the clothes not fitting her just emphasized that).

okay so, in conclusion my theoy might be all horseshit and she might just be a combo of drunk and in a mood, but i do not care bc i am abt to pass out (1) and (2) my labtop is abt to die sooooo, do what u want w my half asleep musings.

p.s. since im abt to pass out, there are prob MANY grammatical errors - i will fix them in the morning (maybe, who acc cares)
I doubt daddy cut her off completely. People who pay the way for their kids into their late 30s are not likely to stop for any reason other than them dying. What I can see being more likely is daddy is having health issues and is not paying out as much. Or is being more critical of her spending because he's spending so much on health-related things/services.

Give it some time. Once her dad dies, she's gonna go fucking nuts with her spending when she gets her inheritance.

I can't believe how PISSED she is through this whole video. She is coming unhinged! Wtf.

And it wasn't just the fit of the clothes, it was the colors. Her speech about the color of the green dress was bat shit. Is it really that big of a deal, especially since it didn't fit?

Had they sent her clothes sized to accommodate her hips, I'm sure she would have thrown fits about how all the tops were too baggy. When you wear two radically different sizes, and order a "mystery box" of unknown items, you are asking for disappointment when it comes to fit. She's ordered, tried on (and disposed of) enough clothes by now to know this.

Going on about the olive green dress like that was just nuts. Okay, you didn't like the color. But it was olive, or maybe moss--definitely not babyshit (which is a gold/ochre color). And a lot of her viewers would actually wear that color, so making it out to be the worst color in the world, rather than something she didn't care for personally, is a great way to insult those viewers.

And on top of that, she spent so much time disparaging Universal Standard--a clothing company that is at least trying not to be part of the problems inherent in the fashion industry--and then goes so far as to urge her viewers to buy sweatshop-made Amazon Basics, which don't make any pretense at all of being ethically manufactured. I mean, holy shit, if she ever had any hope of doing a sponsorship deal with US, she just chucked it out the window. If they don't know about this vid, they really should.

What a fucking mess. She is coming unhinged again, just as she did after she injured her foot while still living in NYC, not long before she moved back to Austin.

She ordered a mystery box and is livid that she didn't like the colors, styles, and that they couldn't predict her freak show proportions.

What really struck me is that she imagines that employees lovingly hand-select the contents of these mystery boxes for each customer, based upon the customer's stated preferences.

She doesn't get that the questionnaire was about preferences, not full-blown desires. Nor does she get that the boxes are made up en masse, ahead of time, from whatever inventory is past-season and has been slow-moving.

Whoever does order fulfillment might be able to select, say, a "warm weather" and "bright colors" and "jeans" box, especially in smaller sizes, but when you're a 3X and up? You'll get whatever they've got on hand, regardless of your stated preferences, because there just isn't going to be a large selection.

And she's shocked and dismayed to get fall clothes--at the very beginning of spring, when retailers are desperate to offload the last remaining dregs of their fall and winter inventory, even if it means sending them out in random boxes at rock-bottom prices. Anna. Girrrl. You need to learn how seasons and the fashion cycle work, because anybody remotely savvy (and even fashion-immune people like me) would know that's what you'll be getting.

She's leaving the tags on so she can "donate" them? Is she catching on that people think she's a hypocrite when it comes to preaching about charity?

If she really wants to make useful donations to charity, not blowing $250+ on "mystery boxes" of dubious clothes, and instead making a $250 cash donation to a charity, is a lot more helpful than dumping her unwanted supersized clothes on them. Hell, she could even write it off. But it doesn't give her the same dopamine hit that buying random shit online does, so she'll keep donating her NWT, seam-popped cast-offs.

Side note: I just looked at the Universal Standard website and their sizes are... certainly something.

I think you're on to something about the money thing being behind her anger.

I'm inclined to think she's stressed out over having to apply for a home loan, when she doesn't have a job and has erratic "influencer" income.

But I'm also pretty sure she's a trust-funder who has some sort of investment income (stock dividends; minority stake in a family business or real estate holdings) that covers her actual living expenses, and anything she makes via sponsored posts and social media campaigns is just extra, and allows her to pretend she has an actual career. She has always been far too free-spending and blissfully unconcerned with money not to be a trust-fund kid.

But while she maybe hasn't touched the principal, she's lived it up, and spent years spending all the income, rather than saving and re-investing it. So now she wants to buy a house, and those reckless spending habits are biting her in the ass.

At any rate, she probably has had to admit to a loan agent that her social media influencer career is really just a hobby, and that despite a healthy income she doesn't have shit for a down payment. And it's possible she doesn't have much of a credit rating because she's never taken on and repaid substantial debt before--she just never had to.

Maybe she did ask her dad for a "loan" so she could afford more house, or in a more desirable neighborhood, and he said no. But I think the scrutiny of her true financial and employment status in order to get a home loan, and having to get approval instead of being hand-waved through it, would be humiliating for her--especially if she couldn't get approved for as much as she hoped for, in a hot market where houses are getting more expensive by the day.

I think she's getting a whopping dose of normal, adult reality, and it's really messing with her head. Perhaps having to confront how foolish and wasteful she's been all her adult life, and maybe face the fact that she has no genuine accomplishments, is part of that. Applying for a home loan (especially the first time) can make you kind of crazy, and bring up all kinds of insecurity about your own financial desirability--even when you're good with money, and manage it responsibly. And Anna, afaict, is not that.

Babe doesn't know the difference between customized and mystery boxes.

I've followed Anna for a while now and the thing to know about her is she lies, creates very convoluted stories, and has a "cycle" much like ALR. It's easy to see when once the pattern has been established.

She left NYC because she couldn't afford her $3k apartment and the city was too uncomfortable for her size. She can't afford her current apartment and thinks a mortgage will be cheaper. Looking at houses all day can be physically draining, both from getting in and out of a vehicle, going through the house, climbing stairs, etc. The physical strain has her going nuts.

The $5000 she claimed to donate either didn't happen or was gifted to her by some other company.

Anna posts a sponsored video; she loves everything. Buys the clothes herself; hates it all so she can justify returning stuff that she can't afford and knows doesn't fit. This is so predictable it's not even funny anymore.

The apartment she is in now looks very nice so I'm not sure why she is in a hurry to move out but I seriously doubt the construction is the reason. She probably can't afford it and thinks buying a house in Austin is the answer. Her last apartment in Austin was even nicer and larger and she moved out because a neighbor was being creepy?? That makes no sense. Daddy probably said no to financing a house smaller than his mansion in Ohio and while also being several times more expensive. Hence her freaking out. (I'm just speculating here based on what other farmers are saying because I have no clue what the cost of living in Austin is).

This woman broadcasts every detail of her life until something goes wrong and she will not admit that everything she does and says is a lie or that she really is just a miserable cunt no one can stand to be around.

Once again, Anna shits all over clothes that actually look decent on her and make her look halfway fashionable/well put-together. The two burgundy pieces and the grey shirt all looked great on her. Even the navy trench was good, even though the wrong size.
Anna getting pissed because she lied about her size and received something that doesn't fit will never not be funny, though.
It's kinda refreshing to see the real Anna come out from behind the mask from time to time.
The real Anna is so incredibly entitled and is deeply, internally angry that she wasn't born in a naturally slender body. It infuriates her to no end when a clothing company sends her clothes she can't fit into. She hates being confronted with the reality of what she is-- a person of circus sideshow proportions who has no real right to demand that the rest of the world accommodate her abnormally-sized body.

She magically won the house bid on a house when she said she found no houses. That cameraman is there too he seems to be entirely on her staff now. And it looks like shes filming another haul because there is a rack with clothes.
Bank of O'Brien finally approve the purchase?

Musta. Truthfully I don't see many people not considering her a risk on a purchase of a house. She admits that she knows it will take months to close the deal. Wonder if its a short sale the owners are desperate cause i dont think putting your income as "influencer" would make many people think they have the money for it.

Sometimes I almost want to get irritated that cows like Anna and Jude continue to fall upwards, but then I realize it's entertainment fodder for us. She will certainly fuck it up somehow. And I can't imagine her staying in one place for more than a couple years. "Waaaah, why is my mortgage upside down?"

Maybe this was all part of the act... Speculating here, but recently she has been accused of being entitled and spoiled. So she had to portray someone that would have difficulty finding a house, saving, the emotional roller coaster of feelings that people normally experience with buying a house, but not Anna. She had to appear relatable to her audience, had to get her asspats when she finally got it. If she had not put on this show people would have been more turned off. She is just a drama queen who went a little to far into her role to appease her fans. She truly is out of touch with reality, and her followers, the only time she is self aware is when she actually reads her comments.

Enormous responsibility aside, can she not imagine how fucking depressing it will be for her to live in some big empty house alone? This sad bitch might lose her mind coming back from yet another soulless influencer meet up or forced, vapid outing with Katie to the dead silence of a house entirely void of life. Renting creates some distracting hustle and bustle for the lonely but I think she'll eventually do nothing but despair in a house by herself.

This shit is so weird.
