Second of all, why does Cartoon Network default to the PPG style in these things now?

They probably default to PPG as its one of the easiest/fastest style to emulate out of most of their cartoons and is very easy to recognise at a glance, so it attracts people who liked PPG/have memories of it from their childhoods (wider age range I think).

iirc Isn't there a live action reboot coming soon? I'm assuming they have their hands in that project as well so this is probably to drive up hype for that.

The first humans also need to be queer AF before that was what the world was apparently like before white heterocispatriarchy forced the rest of humanity to stop being their true selves. Each character needs to have 1 or 2 orientation labels (doesn't matter if they contradict each other) and 1-3 gender labels (likewise). Because how else can we express the natural gender diversity of tribal hunter-gatherer noble savages than with terms created by affluent white people in the last 40 years to describe themselves?
