I like these videos of James playing his daughters levels. I actually very get into it. Whenever he's dodging enemies or objects I flinch or jump a bit. Considering his kids are about 7 or 8 and 3 or 4 these are very impressive. Though I'm sure James or his wife gave a helping hand.

These were actually good and entertaining. It seems that it might be a long running series which I don't mind.

Good episode. The game he plays is based on a movie he actually knows about, so he's a little more into this than Shrek.

Only thing, I think it's littered too much with dumb jokes that are drawn out a little. His joke about a friend dying by touching a clown takes the cake.

Which meme was it? The episode is pretty alright, except for the beginning. There's no long skits, he just talks a bit about the movie then reviews the game and he sounded enthusiastic while doing it. I take this any day over the Shrek Fairytale Freakdown review and Chronologically Confused about Dragon Quest.

Yea it seems i took a break right when it started to get better, the timeline one that Justin did was as an answer (i believe it was thecinemassacrethruth reddit it stems from) to the meme that the Castlevania --> AVGN first episode now is shorter apart than the other way around.

Not the best, but it's a good rebound episode after the monumental dud that came before. He ought to just stick to this more "classic" style and only go for the skits/storyline stuff if he actually has something to work with.

I m going to agree

1) its based on a movie i m sure he saw as a youth.

2) he even pointed out how its a copy of another movie he likes as a youth.

3) the game is bad so there is space for a review

The only thing I question is if the footage was his own gameplay or just the SW people played/game genied it to get the stuff.

I don't think that was jab at NC. I would guess it was more about people getting annoyed at the skits in previous AVGN videos. We'll see if Doug gets a question about it on twitch. James told Doug about the jab Chris Bores did in the Irate Gamer/AVGN crossover so it wouldn't fit for James to do this kind of joke.
