Quick question - if mules are so stubborn and difficult to negotiate with, why were they primarily used for cargo transportation? Mule trains, those things. I think in that case it's better to have more animals with obedience rather than stronger assholes. Specifically around the mountains.
Here's a journal entry which might explain: (by John F. Shean, 1996, 'Hannibal's Mules', if anyone cares).
Mules were much faster than oxen and could travel up to 49 3/4 miles per day. For most of antiquity, animals were more commonly used to carry loads rather than pull vehicles. The three most common beasts of burden - donkeys, mules and horses - could, with panniers, carry a maximum load of 200, 300 and 400 lbs. respectively.
For treks across difficult terrian, a mule is the best animal because he can negotiate hills and mountainous areas better than Oxen or wagons. Mules could also be ridden in a pinch and required less feed than oxen, although you would need more of them to carry the same amount of baggage. They were popular with military campaigns because of the speed aspect, especially if the campaign was 'travelling light'. For these reasons, mules were used by the British right up to the 1st world war (and maybe the second too). A mule's stubbornness will also help in some ways, because he'll let you know when he is unable to do something. You can kinda drive an ox into a swirling river or off a cliff by accident if you're a dummy, because Oxen aren't smart and will do whatever if their handler whips them, but mules and donkeys don't give a shit.

The horses on campaigns would have been mostly cavalry horses, and while they might have carried their own rider's gear, they were too valuable to be used for lugging grain or siege engine parts.

Horses can carry a lot of weight, but generally they shouldn't. An ancient warhorse would have the soldier plus his armour and weapons, which could be over 250 lbs of weight (not to mention the horse's own armour, if it had any). Those are horses specially trained for the job, though, not riding school ponies or dressage horses. A cavalry soldier would also know how to ride properly and his strength would allow him to move with the horse rather than sitting like a dead weight in the saddle. Ancient riders didn't use strirrups, so he would have been exerting a lot more grip through his knees and leaning forward more, taking some of the pressure off the horse's back.

Big fatties riding ponies are dangerous, even if they're well trained. You're just sitting there like a lump in the saddle, and if you're so fat that you can't sit up out of the saddle with your knees gripping and your weight forward, you're putting extra strain on the horse.

General fatdump:

Fatties who complain about erasure of 'body types' in media aren't watching the right media. Loads of shows have ugly, fat or weird looking people in them (mostly British shows, we're a weird looking race of people). Flick over to any soap or realistic gritty drama and there'll be tons of uggos and fatties; even the earlier seasons of post 2005 Doctor Who had people in them who looked fairly normal. It's American and online (Netflix, Amazon) shows which are the real culprits when it comes to unrealistically hot people.

Does she really think that thin people look at celebrities and pop idols with their perfect hair and makeup and personal trainer-toned bodies and think 'yes she is just like me'?

She's just mad that she isn't getting hired.

This is the court document for the siblings placed into foster care mentioned in one of the tiktoks above. The document states that as well as being morbidly obese (99th percentile) the children also were bullied at school for being smelly and dirty, the house was a tip, one of the children has threatened to commit suicide and they were suffering from fatty liver and onset type two diabetes. Whether or not the state was being heavy handed in removing the children, they certainly weren’t removed just for being fat.

I noticed that a lot of grossly obese people are extreme hoarders, as well as having a food addiction.
Seems like episode of "Hoarders" and "Hoarders: Buried Alive", a lot of the people on those show living in their trash heap of a hope are either morbidly obese, have a mental/neurological disability, and/or elderly.

So I guess if the obesity doesn't kill them first, either the hoard of garbage will come crashing down on them, smothering/crushing them to death. Or with animal hoarders, they die or get mauled to death by their neglected feral animals and get eaten, since dogs are scavengers (I think).

Kinda of a horrifying thought there. I wonder the link is to obesity and compulsive hoarding?

I found this. It looks interesting:

mules can move across rough terrain pretty well, like donkeys, while carrying more weight than donkeys
horses don't do as well on harsh terrain
an ox, i honestly dont know how well they do with uneven ground, but i do know that they're slow as fuck so if you travel with an ox you'll be going at snails pace while a mule can go pretty fast

I bring you love~
