It is of my firm opinion that Leah should step down from

my breath.

I don't say this lightly as I have given her a second chance
already, something which I have come to regret.

The first coup happened a few months ago (end of December 2020,
roughly) and was quietly dealt with and reverted soon after.
Unfortunately I don't have an exact date as my IRC client is not
configured to store the date in each timestamp but Leah and I
did speak privately after reinstatement and I made it clear that
coups were not acceptable and to not engage in that behavior
ever again, which she agreed to.

I am deeply hurt as a result of Leah's actions considering I began
contributing to Libreboot with the understanding that it was a
democratically-governed project. I truly regret spending my time
working with Leah in any capacity and no longer trust her at all.

Not only is Stallman past that, the GNU project itself hasn't made any worthwhile software in the past 20 years. Both the FSF and GNU are way too invested in activism (i.e. bitching about people not calling their OS GANOO SLASH LINUCKS) that they have forgotten the initial reason for their existence. One would think they would hold contests etc. to get people to write new free software, but nah, better spend all the money on sending Stallman to more autistic conferences so he can go on autistic tirades about how it should be called GANOO SLASH LINUCKS.

He didn't defend Epstein, he condemned Epstein. He did defend his (dead, by then) friend Minksy, by saying that 'assault' was possibly an incorrect verb to use, if the (17? 19? year old) female presented as willing and Minsky had no reason to think otherwise. If that even happened, given Minsky's wife said she was with him the whole time. He does seem to be guilty of wrongthink regarding whether consensual sex with someone that (because of their age, in some jurisdictions) is statutory rape should be called rape, given how loaded that word is.

I think he wrote an essay objecting to the use of the pronoun 'they' with non-binaries due to the ambiguity in some sentences with multiple subjects, and that it's already used in English as a plural, and suggested his own pronoun instead?

My takeaway is that he seems very particular about accurate use of English and will correct people in situations where non-autistic people would have massive mental alarm bells screaming not to get involved or say anything. Same with his sense of humour. Probably made a joke about pollen being plant spunk and getting some up his nose, which makes him guilty of some kind of nasal sex with plants fetish.

eh i kinda have an explanation for that, and what it comes down to is "userspace". Specifically, where is the user?

FSF is from an era, and has the skillsets for, building tools and utilities for multi-user systems where a unit of work is abstracted into "processes" by "users". The majority of applications today only use that abstraction to host their runtime, and instead use other abstractions for identity and workload management. For example: you don't log into kiwifarms with a desktop application that uses your kerberos identity, you use a web browser (and kiwifarms own authentication).

Very few systems/endpoints today are multi user in the traditional sense - how often do you let other people use your phone, or laptop? And in the instances where you do set up another user account on those devices, how often is someone else using it at the same time you are?

This represents an out-dated way of thinking about how a computer is used, but is how the FSF largely still thinks about their projects and utilities. The GNU userspace is hardly used by the majority of people as anything other than a way to accomplish their job - versus 20 years ago, where if you used computers for work/hobby, you were likely using these tools heavily and daily and to a richer capacity; often, even actively contributing small patches back to the then-primitive tools!

If the FSF were to bring their mission up to date with the modern world, they'd probably be doing things like funding and supporting Libre operating systems for mobile, providing identity provider services (like google and facebook do), and running/hosting/building federated (and libre!) "userspace" utilities like identity aware proxy, and encrypted web-based data support via key management via said identity provider.

Instead, those crucial alternatives simply don't exist, or in some cases, are being poorly implemented out of what I'd describe as desperation - mastodon is a piece of shit, but it's an important piece of shit and a glimpse into what a good future could look like.

So anyways, all this culture war bullshit doesn't matter if you look at it pragmatically: Instead of building a vision for the future, rms still refuses to use web browsers.
