EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.

Spoiler: She's probably not doing EMDR

It's fairly new wave approach to trauma therapy. It's most commonly used for PTSD or CPTSD.

EMDR is usually done in a therapeutic environment like a hospice or a psychiatric hospital, and is not recommended to be done outside of a place of care, as it is deeply invasive and often involves reliving deep seeded traumas in order to change the response.

I know quite a few people who've done EMDR, and for all of them it's been extremely upsetting ("triggering") and confronting across the board, which is why they have only been allowed the therapy whilst in an institution.

Unless Anisa goes into a place of care, you're going to have a hard time getting anyone who knows anything about EMDR to believe she's actually participating in it.

Edit: I don't know what I'm doing wasting my time explaining this - EMDR requires a referral from a medical specialist, and with all her fucking around Canada and America, I somehow doubt she's consistently seeing a psych. I'm fairly sure she'd be flexing the fact she sees a psychiatrist/psychologist, if that were the case, too, knowing Anisa.
She's said she's had "therapy", but never mentioned a psych. I dunno.

Re: EMDR - I don't know if it is even widely accepted practice. Pretty sure you have to be in psych services to access that. Don't know about Canada but assume since it is something you could be provided free on health care- that the waiting lists are lengthy like the UK. Also would need psych Eval and monitoring for a patient to be advised this would be the protocol that would be best for outcomes. I'm not a med fag but I assume the medication management for this therapy would be intensive too.

I'm thinking she glommed on to the tapping thing often associated with EMDR type therapy and declared herself as doing EMDR.

re forum of tattoo - well since it is her only personality type. It could be translated that all we talk about her is the tattoos because she is dead inside and out. This is one of the most retarded things she’s said so far, is she really not aware that the vast majority of people who get tattooed (even in American trad) have their tattoos custom drawn and work with the artist to PLAN how they lay out their tattoos? Sure they don’t physically touch and are stand-alone pieces but trust me there is still a method to laying out and orienting American trad on the body. That’s what consultations are for!! At one point Anisa had a reddish-brown colour that didn't look bad at all, but in my opinion, that's about as far as she can take it with red tones in her hair.
