Anyhow, I carry a gun. Not likely to happen. Virginia law recognized the right to reasonable force when threatened. There is no "duty to retreat" in VA. For example, you can shoot someone in the leg if they encroach upon your land in a threatening manner or come at you in public in a threatening manner.
I also own a dash cam in my car and carry a mini camera on both sides of my coat as second line of defense. I can snapshot an attacker instantly to capture their face and verify my story if I ever have to go to trial for shooting someone in self defense
