General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

ame and mori generally suck fucking dick at collabing, and are much more comfortable (and therefore enjoyable) when they are on their own... Gura and Kiara are the two that seems to have no problem doing collabs,
Ame tones her "toxic gremlin" shit down in order to be more polite and accommodating to whoever she's collabing with. I don't think that qualifies as "sucking". You generally try to leave enough room for your collab partner/s to breath and make their own mark on the stream rather than making it about you with just a guest onboard that you're stringing along for the ride. Streams where she's collabing with someone she's very comfy with like Gura actually are a better showcase of her potential as a collab partner as they generally bounce well off one-another and have no qualms about talking shit and joking around. When it comes to EN group collabs, you tend to miss her as she's usually the one having to play the technical advisor trying to fix/troubleshoot in the background whatever the fuck kind of tech issues they're having, either that or she has to tard-wrangle and/or hand-hold the rest of the group with the game mechanics of whatever game they're playing.

With Calli, I'd agree to a certain extent, but a lot of that can just be attributed to her just not being much of a streamer to begin with. She's fucking awkward even in her solo streams, but that's a brand & characteristic her fanbase has learned to embrace.

Gura is actually the one in the group that needs more work in group collabs. She's fine if it's one-on-one collabs with her EN mates but she tends to allow herself to get drowned out and just sink in the background doing her own thing during group collabs.

Poor onion is too socially autistic for Suisei. But, she managed to pull through. So, everything went well.

Holy fuck you can practically hear Aqua's voice quivering as she tries to maintain the conversation with Suisei. I know Marine has said that she's very shy in real life and Aqua has also self-reflected on why she likes playing solo in APEX but that Suisei back and forth was something else.

Sperging out because you lost your honor was more reserved for "ran from a fight" or "stole from the shogun" than "those girls giggled at my shitty drawings".
No, that was never a thing. The samurai "code of honor" was fake and made after the restoration to trick the dumbasses into not raping and robbing anymore. Nobles did commit sudoku when "dishonored", but that was a penance, not retribution or a demand for respect, or even tied to the idea of "armored swordsmen".

Oh yes, they commited a game when they were dishonored, i see.

Perhaps, but I don't think she's running tech support all the time. I would formulate what you said the other way round: That Ame is in fact not doing so great in collabs, except for 1:1 collabs with people she is already very familiar with. Group collabs and "new" 1:1 collabs, she is in fact very quiet and reserved there, I do think one can say "shy". And that can be a problem. It was fine during the last one, as the jackbox games' competitive nature gave her something to do without the need to talk much. We could still laugh at whatever the hell she was drawing. But in other group collabs, it's rather notable, and leads to Kiara trying to fill the air. And her 1:1 collabs with JP... well, they are mostly very popular, so maybe it's just me, but they just... kinda... feel rather low-energy to me. And I say that as someone who appreciates Ina's comfiness.

It was an ex post facto thing, yeah, but was it really a Meiji Reformation thing? The impression I got is that it was an Edo era thing, that the Tokugawa shoguns pretended the samurai always had had such an honour codex, and that of course it always revolved around duty and obedience - a very convenient notion for those on top. But of course, already during that era there already were no large wars anymore, and no real "samurai battle" or whatever, so that was in fact a construction. But I think the construction already happened then. Unless I'm mistaken.

Also, have there been any news on Delutaya? @Mister O.
Not really, her dad fucked off, her and her mom are on good terms, but she's till on content hiatus because her dad broke her new PC before he moved out (which was crowdfunded by her fans in her Discord server btw). So while all of that stuff is settled, and she gets used to a new life free of a drunken asswipe father scaring her every day, she's just been chilling on Twitter and brainstorming stuff for future releases, and of course still having her depressive episodes here and there, as any young person with a rough upbringing would.

At least you can tell Suisei does it on purpose to torment her; they're friends and love each other so she knows being a jabberjaw and bombarding her with annoying questions will get her flustered. It's all in good fun. But holy shit imagine if Aqua was ever in a sitch like that with someone she didn't know? Jesus.

I think with the group EN collabs you have to consider, too, that only Calli and Kiara have met each other irl and presumably knew each other before they debuted.

Everyone else? Yeah they only know each other through online interaction, so their relationship is comparatively stilted, and I wouldn't doubt some of them are still too hesitant and want to avoid feeling like they're stepping on each others toes.

Unfortunately, the result is that Kiara ends up looking like she's totally hogging the spotlight and overwhelming a group of introverts even though that isn't necessarily the case, and it doesn't help that it's a toss-up on whether her jokes will land or not. Hell, Calli had to keep on reassuring her that her Quiplash jokes were funny after each round she lost to stop her from sperging and killing the mood.

I'm pretty sure Gura has to keep in the back of her mind that her fanbase is full of retards that attacked the likes of Roboco and Suisei because she got a bit salty in Among Us, so maybe she feels that if she speaks up and it's interpreted wrong, then someone is gonna get lambasted.

Also, as a side note, I don't think Calli is so much 'acting' even though it's clear she's putting on a voice. It strikes me more as a person who doesn't have a good 'streamer voice' so she's doing essentially what everyone does when faced with some kind of presentation or interview where you speak in a way that makes you appear more personable and charasmatic. She's awkward, but I think that's to her benefit - both because of the gap, but also because a lot of what she talks about and how she says it is pretty unfiltered and sincere.

It's nice to hear she's getting better, and it's nice that her fans funded her PC.

But fuck me, knowing how bad the founders and admins of that server are in their behaviour, it makes me fucking sick someone as cool as Delu got stuck with them.

She actually sounds like someone straight out of a radio host curse, remember she is used to be in public yes, but she is not used to do it daily and to do other things beside singing

We use it to keep doxes away from guests, since there are a lot of Vtubers and we find them sporadically, updating the OP everytime we do it would be a nightmare for the mod.
But sure, we can stop using it if we are doing it wrong, just please dont hit us anymore daddy null.
No, no one has used it to keep doxes away because NO ONE HAS BEEN DOXED IN THIS THREAD.

Correct, but we really do not want any information about any of the roommates to be just left in the open for everyone to see. If we are not to use that feature for this, what else can we do?

Eh. I think that has more to do with the language barrier more than anything else. When your collab partner is struggling with the English language and you can't speak the native language yourself, you're gonna spend most of your time hanging-back, slowing your pace down and not really communicating as much and that impacts the way you usually do/handle things compared to how you'd usually do it with a partner you can communicate seamlessly with. It gets even more pronounced when she's more known/beloved for her solo hijinx of arguing with chat and screeching with frustration when shit doesn't go her way in-game. That's not really something you can freely do when you're collabing with a stranger, let alone a senpai you can hardly communicate with. The reddit hugbox likes to call it "Seiso Ame" but everyone fucking knows it's just her hiding her power-levels.

And with regards to EN group collabs - if she's not running tech support, she's usually tard-wrangling the group where she actually had to pre-prep materials (see their Xmas MC collab) or hand-hold the rest of the group since they're not familiar with the gameplay (Secret Neighbor, Don't Starve).

NO ONE HAS BEEN DOXED IN THIS THREAD.
Heard that SALTE? You're NO ONE in this thread now.

- despite the "gender irrelevant" statement they said the group will be all female characters (sad troon shark noises)
I did not read this one, glorious that they did it after the casting ended :story:

After reviewing the post in question, I can say that isn't a dox.
My point still stands.
That was more a gay slapfight than anything else

Let me ask again. If I have some info on a vtuber's roommate and I want to post it here, can I use the private information feature of the Farms, and if not, what should I do instead to keep this info hidden from people with no accounts?

When "doxx" is mentioned in reference to chuubas more often than not it simply means that their previous activities are found out or their face is uncovered. It happens everywhere. Nobody means that there are adresses available to swat a chinese cartoon.
There is no term in english for this. So naturally the next closest thing is being used. Since for a chuuba it might as well be similar to doxx in consequences.
Personally, never saw an issue with it since everyone seemed to be on the same page. And then someone previously pointed out it being used not according to it's.. legal definition.

It's just semantics.

Btw, this is what """doxxers""" at YT use as their defence for spreading chuubas' info and pictures:
Don't go around throwing the word "doxxing" without actually knowing the meaning of the word or the full context of things. Every information in this video are known as "past life" in Japan. "Past life" are informations that is available and made public by the person/s (in this case are hololive talents) in the past and it is normal. Yes, it was information that is made public aka PUBLIC INFORMATION. The westerners are not familiar with the "idol" culture from Japan, therefore the westerners didn't know anything about the "past life" thingy and immediately assumes that these "past life" is illegal/bad. And starts to throw around random stupid shit such as "forbidden knowledge" or "doxxing" without knowing that these are called "past life" and it is not illegal/bad or even considered as doxxing. You can't dox or considered as doxxing someone with public information.

Also, I'm not sure where term 'chuuba' came from but something tells me it happened in writing and the amusing part is that it morphed in a way to be easier pronounced in verbal form. How often do you get to utter the word to someone? Yeah.

Regarding getting political, I figured if anyone was in a position to get political, it would be whoever is at the current peak (so either Coco or Rushia based on superchats, or Gura based on subscribers), a la Lewis Hamilton. Then again given how surprisingly slow the Merc is this year, it would make sense if any of them try to that their dominant position will get threatened.
