Today is in the mid 50's in tropical Renton, and Phil's office is already an inferno. Maybe we're reading the weather wrong and it's 50 Celsius.

He keeps warning people that he may not keep the gunnars on the whole day because it is a marathon. He initially said they would irritate his eyes. This obviously makes little sense (unless he needs real glasses...) since they are supposed to stop eye irritation.
Now this has been retconned as he hits $50... because it is so hot in his office, the glasses may get annoying. I didn't realize that the summer was so hard for people with glasses.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is also going to rule out the Platinum vest - the hottest of all the vests. And Phil's most hated.

A few seconds into the first stage of the original Mario and Phil is complaining that the Switch pad is delayed and doesn't feel as good as the original pad. So there is the excuse we're going to ride into the ground.

Don't you know that your body cools down 70% faster when you aren't wearing glasses. Maybe if you were a mature adult with a business degree then you would.
