They really are twisting the passage it is a stretch to make of it to what they did.
I am rather critical of these “studies”, given Theory’s prevalence there.
Perhaps a redeeming arc somewhere in all of this?

It's fun to see how they choose to describe criticism against them. If someone read that Donna Hughes accused trans people of having a "trans-sex fantasy", they would assume she's saying troons are sexual predators. In context, she obviously means they live in a fantasy where sex can be changed through surgery, which is something that even some saner troons agree with. He also does not mention how she compared them to Qanon because then he'd have to admit the comparison is apt.
