So Disney sells a shit ton of merchandise that's not really a character, or a franchise or anything, but for specific rides and things only at that specific park.

And theme park merch is really trash in quality, the kind of items that belongs on a bargain bin at wallmart but no matter how overpriced will still sell like they are coated in diamonds, gold, silver and heroine.

I don't know about her specifically, but there's a surprising amount of this type of person and it's really not too deep; they just think socialism means the government will pay for their health care and student loans freeing up hundreds of dollars per month to buy more consoomer products.

In terms of the solo Black Widow film I have the black widow barbie, the Disney black widow doll, the black widow funko pop, and the action figure. I have a t shirt of the film poster too and the official book.

I don't care what it says about me. I love Scarlett's Natasha. While I absolutely despise the way she was written, the film is my most anticipated. I've been waiting over ten years (you can thank Joss Whedon and Ike Perlmutter for her not getting one sooner). And them setting Yelena up as the next Widow cannot be the only reason for this film.
If they’re referencing events of Infinity War and Endgame in this “flashback” film there’s *absolutely* some kind of major pivot coming. There's definitely something more to it happening.

I was a cooomsumer back in the day. Collected videogames before it became super trendy to. Shelves filled with games that i never played, some in plastic wrapping still. Just buying crap to probably fill some deeper hole i had in my life.

I just had a relevation one day, a sort of "what the fuck am I doing with all this crap?" And sold it all to some local game shop. Regret not holding onto ogre tactics but the rest was good riddance (360/ps3 stuff).

That happens a lot, I've noticed. I think it's something we evolved with that kicks in once we reach adulthood and our frontal lobe is like, fully developed or something. It was probably a super-helpful behavior when we were wild humans but now consumerism has hijacked it.

You hit the nail on the head. Buying shit temporarily relieved all the bullshit, but it was only ever a bandaid, and a shitty expensive one at that.

Do these people not realise that countries that do have free or subsidised healthcare and education pay much more tax to support those programs, so everything accounted for your purchasing power would probably be similar or even slightly lower? Like the EU average VAT rate (sales tax) is 21% and it's 25% or more in some countries. For income tax you hit the higher brackets quicker too, like 40% above 35k per year for a single person.

Stupid question, of course they don't.

The appeal of socialized health care, at least in my eyes is that I'll never have to worry about not having it if I work part time. I make more working part time right now than most people in my area do working full time, and while switching to full time would earn me more I like the free time I have more than money. Paying more in tax wouldn't be that big of a deal if it allowed me more free time, plus when I turn 26 I'm going to be paying for it either way. Also the people that bemoan Canadian wait times for things like MRI don't know much about the US system if they think you just get one immediately. You have to wait here as well, unless you've got a legit emergency you're going to be waiting anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on your area.
