Is it maybe because they roid until the last possible moment they can avoid getting caught using short steroid esters and discontinue their use long enough to pass a test? (If you don’t know using steroids stops your body producing testosterone and it takes a while for it to start again once it’s clean). That would seem to suggest that dropping your testosterone doesn’t magically erase all of the advantages it granted you now wouldn’t it? How inconvenient

I have a bad feeling that as his life begins to truly spiral out of control Rhys will begin to lash out more, physically speaking. There is so much unadulterated and (of course) viscerally male rage in those Tweets you can smell it. Not that women can't be narcissists, or lash out physically, but anyone who's encountered an out-of-control male narc knows one when they see them forever after. Rhys previously had something to lose in the form of his credited "professional academic" status, but now that he's managed to cock up a tenured fucking position, his life is going absolutely nowhere positive from this point. He managed to extract all the capital he could from his trooning out at a very expedient time, but it's spent now, and we all know his "investment properties" are bunk.
If I were a woman in his life, however tangentially, I would be avoiding Rhys like the fucking plague from now on. I could legitimately see him going full-on murder-suicide at some point as his life continues to go down the shitter, perhaps with some chemical encouragement in the form of his erratic drug consumption.
I hope I'm wrong, because he's a great cow if absolutely nothing else. I just have a bad feeling.

That's what I love about Rhys. His is the classic charlatan arc, all bluster and empty promises that turn into anger and fear as the grift falls apart. We even get a textbook finale where the disgraced villain assumes a different identity and flees the country. A timeless tale, yet a tale for our times, that promises to only get better.
