The horrible way tranzgingerz treat their parents has always been one of the things that disgusts me most about them. It's bad enough that troons selfishly never take into consideration their parents feelings watching the child they raised essentially murder the person that they were, the child their parents loved and watch grow up, and then have to deal with what is essentially a stranger take their child's place. Bad enough that troons never think about the pain and shame their transition will bring upon their parents. But on top of all that, the troons will either turn their backs on the family that loved and raised them, the parents who worked hard to provide a comfortable life for them, and if they do stay in contact with their parents the troons will treat them like absolute garbage, say horrible things to their parents with the full intention of causing as much suffering as they can, and make up terrible lies about their parents like they were "abusive" and "traumatized" them growing up. It's absolutely despicable how troons will treat their families, showing absolutely no respect or gratitude for the people they owe everything to.

I talked a bit about my opinion earlier but one of the reasons self-defense rifles are easy mode is they never get in those conditions. You keep it in your house all the time except when you bring it to the range, and then you clean it when you get home. Your home defense rifle only needs to operate under optimal conditions. You arn't taking it into the sandbox, you arn't taking it into the jungle, you're just shooting someone in your air-conditioned house. If you buy a gun that can't operate in the environment of "a clean home" then you're in trouble, but you don't need your home defense AR-15 to be able to withstand getting dragged by a truck through the mud or whatever.

If you spend $3000 on a gun you're doing it because its your hobby not because its going to save your life when a $1500 gun wouldn't.

Or you live in an area nastier than where the Tranch is.

I've been hiking in a few places where you want your basic self-defense rifle to be able to handle a "OH FUCK BEAR!" sort of day. Not dragged by a truck through a mud, but definitely carried by somebody who is doing their damnedest to put enough space between them and a large predator to actually shoot it somewhere that will do more than just piss it off some more. (And, well, then I ask my partner about the family bear recipes if the ranger says yep, I can take my kill home.)

Isn't one of the troons from Asheville, NC? I was only a bit away from there when I ended up within arm's reach of a bear that actually was plodding down the mountainside and towards town. Of course, knowing Asheville, they'd probably think that a bear that wandered into the city was a very hairy African-American gentleman in a fur coat, clearly pissed off with Institutional Racism...

But, honestly, given their situation, I still feel the fanciest weapon suitable for their situation is something made by Nerf. A cork pop-gun might do if they want something rustic. I'd not be surprised if they go down in a firefight with themselves, regardless of the quality of what they've currently got...unless it's shit enough that it'll all jam leaving them to wonder (with as much brains as they ever have) why there suddenly is no more incoming fire.

When I went hiking in Alaska years ago I took a .375 H&H rifle for bears (and also possibly moose). But those guns aren't cheap, and you can't just walk into any old gun store and buy ammo so I doubt the tranchers would ever even consider it.
