This is a perfect example of why if possible it should be:

1. Self aid by the casualty
2. If not possible move out grab the casualty and drag him off the "x" (point of wounding" and into cover. Doing that shit in the open just creates more casualties.

Well according to US SOPs, the only form of care authorized while currently under fire is the application of a tourniquet and that's only supposed to be done behind cover.

There was a video earlier of an Indian getting split in half by a train. Both cases the person is going to bleed out and die, but I would think they would still be conscious for a time since the heart would still pump blood to the brain. He'd die faster if his neck was decapitated since the blood wouldn't make it to the brain. Also, lower spine damage would just effect the lower part of the body. The upper part of the spine near the neck would be more lethal, but possibly more merciful.

A few seconds on both jugulars is enough for a passout in teh jits. He should of be bleeding like a fountain from getting literally cut in half. Guess life is indeed stranger than fiction.

Rewatched and I do notice he goes to the ground right before he get's shot. So I take back what I said. The adrenaline aspect plays in, but yes. The cop is at blame for not training on this.

I suppose hindsight is 20/20 for everyone, but if he was afraid of it being an intruder, why not open the door a crack with the firearm in hand before exposing the police to it with the fully opened door?
