You know when you read a turn of phrase and it strikes a chord with you and you're sure you've heard it before?
Don't be mad at me, I just thought it was funny. 😅
I'm not. If anything, I just bring up the Obama Administration to emphasize just how out of touch AH is that their bread and butter are two games that are so outdated that those games probably are the only reason people aim to get the consoles they're on. I'm not going to pretend to know the let's play scene, but if you're going to make a career playing games, it'd help a lot to have your finger on the pulse of the scene a lot more than RT does...and yet they circle back to these two games. And to my knowledge, they never went out of their way to explicitly label themselves as "the Minecraft guys" or "the GTAV guys"

Old and outdated are very different things. Minecraft is still very popular and probably will be for a long time. It's something still being adopted by young kids today, Even at a decade old. More and more we are going to start seeing people who grew up playing minecraft raising children who are just as into it as they were.

SO that's what they're banking on.

That Ky twat was on this weeks AHWU and this weeks episode of "This Just Internet.." whatever the fuck that is.

Just for the schadenfreude, I want the wokesters to declare that the internet is whiteness and that as penance white people must not produce any content or utilize the internet for a week or a month just to see how Geoff, Jack, Michael, and Lindsey react. Would AH just flat out not publish any content or only release content from the tokens during that time? Their self flagellation on Twitter would be epic.

The major difference there is new content creators draw in new audiences. No one is picking up AH after god knows how many episodes of Minecraft and with a bunch of late twenties & early forties guys with a couple of token females playing the game for the billionth time and just going through the motions.

You could try and get 4chan to try and force that agenda.

Also don’t forget this may no longer be these people, they might be so under the thumb of the powers that be that own them that their words and actions are not their own.

A lot of the shit people here point at and bitch about honestly might be the entertainment version of an employee who’s given up, doing as their told and collecting a pay check because the people that control their jobs are just giant fucks and are tired of fighting them.

This is the person in charge of breathing comedic life back into a dying brand.

edit. I'll never get why RT has such a hardon for in-person podcasts. The whole fucking point is that it's an audioshow you listen to, why the fuck do I care if they're in some plywood studio with ikea furniture? Is it supposed to make them feel like it's more than just recording watercooler talk for the few thousand that still listen? What a waste of money to have all this professional kit when you can have a bunch of people with decent mics making the same product for 1/100th of the cost.

I believe that's the reason they've given. I think Barb said that when she ended her Always Open podcast that one of the things they lost due to COVID was the chemistry and banter that couldn't be easily replicated when they were all recording isolated at home instead of on their diner set.

What year is Barb's comedy stuck in?
Awfully brave of you to describe that as comedy.
I just saw Funhaus is playing board games again and since I enjoyed that series back in the dayI checked it out for a second. What the fuck happened? There is a transwoman there now? When did that happen? Shit is going down in flames.
Probably sometime shortly after one of their core members got found out for shoving multiple dildos up his ass while at work.

If they have been vaccinated they also didn't need to waste money building a set where they sit so far apart.

They imported him from the ashes of Inside Gaming along with another dude. They're both unfunny and uninteresting to watch. Board as Hell was one of their best series, but they've been playing this same awful game for the past 4 videos. It's definitely nearing the end for Funhaus

They lost 2 thirds of their core with Bruce leaving and Adam getting fired for jerking off at work so they are a shell of their former selves.

I think that might have to do with camera blocking. If you watch older episodes of the podcast you'll notice it's a similar setup: a couch flanked by two chairs, with the two people on the couch sitting at opposite ends. I assume they're spaced out so each person has a close up shot without any of the others visible.
