I've always liked some of the moodier songs because it feels like Vinny is expressing himself. I like "Hazy" because it sounds like a bit of his own hesitation to do things. I feel like his music is pretty relatable.

Guessing it's either

a) Vinny is still reeling from this, and after years of warning about the dangers of fandom and para-social relationships, he's having a hard time dealing with the fact his audience knows about his personal/sex life. As much as he'd like to wave it all away and say it's all fake, it seems pretty apparent that it's based in some fact at this point. He obviously didn't do anything wrong, and its clear most people agree, but it might take some more time for him to find the energy to put everything to rest and move on from it. It's not just as simple as "yeah I did the creeperinos, now let's do corrupt." He now has to think about how he wants to interact with his fanbase and how he wants to conduct his personal relationships going forward. That's a lot sort out.

b) Legal proceedings are moving forward, and he's decided not to return until restraining orders have been placed on those who accused him of all this. (Note: I highly doubt this goes beyond anything but restraining orders or desist letters, but we're not privy to all the information and history behind this, so who knows.) If this is the case, it could be a while until we hear from Speenyot. But also wise - best to put this all to bed and make it so these fucks don't continue with the harassment and he can get on with his life, as he deserves.

c) He's actually found some enjoyment in having some time off after years of not having a break like this, and he's decided to make the most of it after the initial gut punch. Wouldn't be shocked if he's spending a lot of time at the studio and working on future music projects - music can be a great outlet for when you're in a tough spot in life. Next few Red Vox albums could be really interesting if Vinny feels comfortable singing about all this, but I can totally understand if he's not.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth to all three of these.

I guess it only takes a few hours to get a temporary restraining order that would allow Vinny to stream while waiting to go to court so it's probably purely emotional at this point.

Thank you for the insight! I hope he gets some good rest, he certainly deserves it and I hope he knows we'll be ready to welcome him back with open arms whenever he feels confident and well rested again. No matter how long the haitus. 😉👌

One thing that I'm still really curious about is the motive of this callout. Obviously it's not for "awareness" seeing as the doc is dripping with malice and the accusers refuse to remove account #4 even after Lichpit showed the full story. I wouldn't say it was made solely to try and get him cancelled either with how flimsy the claims are and the fact he doesn't really say anything in his conversations with these women that paints him in a bad light. Convincing a bunch of strangers that a person is a certain way is one thing, but trying to convince his friends that he talks shit about them behind their back is a whole other story. Theres no way they actually thought this would work.

My personal belief was that this thing was constructed with the sole purpose of hurting Vinny, its no secret that the dude has bad anxiety and low self esteem. He's talked in the past about how he thinks he's a terrible friend or just a bad person in general and that comes across in his music a lot too.

While we can sit around picking this callout apart and recognize the mental gymnastics and bad faith arguments, I don't think that will be so easy for Vinny to do as it plays right into his fears. I'm relieved to hear him push back against the abuse allegations at least but this is likely just going to compound his mental issues even more.
It would be nice to laugh at this whole thing and how badly it failed and blew up in the face of everyone who hopped on the bandwagon but the more I think about it now the more I believe it actually succeeded in its purpose. Hopefully it hasn't hurt him too bad but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
