I don't enjoy it, but it is a cross I bear gladly. I just wish I could be Progressive and embrace the idea that as a straight white normal male I am somehow superior to everyone else on the planet. I've rambled about this before, but if someone says "All white people are racist and will always be racist," they're not giving anyone listening a reason to be less racist. There has to be a salvation condition, a possibility of redemption from a sin--and it has to be one that someone can accept.

Right now, the only salvation condition seems to be "accept that you are an awful awful person (even if you've never actually harmed anyone), give away all your stuff, and publicly acknowledge your awfulness. And even then we'll still shame you and tell you to shut up."

Socjus is very Calvinistic, in some ways. Either you're saved or you're damned, and there's nothing you can do to change your outcome.
