Since the user linked is not a chiro for most people I'd think oh wrong link....for a woman who gets random people on instagram to be her midwives and/or breastmilk suppliers can totally see her getting a random person to play chiro on her infant.

"The reality is, it’s never a bad time to start seeing a chiropractor. It is perfectly safe for infants and young children to see a chiropractor. In fact, infants can benefit greatly from a chiropractor because they are trained to assess an infant’s hips, necks, and collarbones.
As children grow up, regular visits to the chiropractor are important. If you notice your child is expressing discomfort with their back and or neck, avoids certain activities, or is displaying poor posture, that is a sign that you should take them to see a chiropractor."

"For mothers-to-be seeking to reduce discomfort without the use of drugs or surgery, chiropractic care with the Webster Technique is a trusted and reliable solution for thousands of women all over the world. At Anchor Chiropractic, our doctors are certified in this technique and ready to help you move towards optimal health and comfort for both you and your baby.
A quicker more comfortable labor and better positioning for delivery are just a few of the reasons why women turn to chiropractic care during pregnancy. Treatment is also supportive for those wishing to have a drug-free vaginal birth with as few interventions as possible. Regular chiropractic adjustments can also address common complaints such as headaches, back and leg pain.
The Webster Technique centers on applying strategic, gentle pressure to the pelvis which restores alignment and causes the uterus to relax. As a result, a baby can find more room to turn heads-down and mom can find greater comfort. Feeling good during pregnancy can help mom keep up her normal routine, exercise regimen and regular range of motion. All of these factors contribute to a greater chance of a birth with fewer (or no!) medical interventions."

"If you’re aware that your baby is in breech position, please contact us to be seen as soon as possible. The later in the pregnancy you wait, the larger the baby is and the more effort will be required to get them to turn to a heads-down position. That said, it can be possible to encourage a baby to turn as late as the 38th or 39th week of pregnancy with the help of a certified Webster practitioner."
I'm not going to touch the chiropractic on newborns and infants thing, because it makes me rage. However, I think the last bit actually outright contradicts medical advice. If a breech baby is turned too early, there's a greater likelihood that it will need to be turned again closer to birth, as there's more room inside the uterus and some fetuses are super active or have a longer than average umbilical cord. However, the fetus grows a lot during the final few weeks of gestation, and eventually, it's pretty well crammed into the uterus without a ton of room to move around. Waiting until closer to delivery means the fetus is big enough to occupy most of the space in the uterus and has much less room to flip back to breech position. I think it's probably much more uncomfortable for the mother to flip a larger baby - the OB basically grabs the baby inside the mom's abdomen and manhandles it into the vertex position; I'm sure there are videos on YouTube and it is wild to see if you're curious. This could be yet another example of these people using woo to put the mother's feelings over the health of the baby. 🤔

Christ Almighty, do you think she intends for Luna to use this as a mobility device? Instead of actual medical equipment???? Maybe I'll start keeping track of how much money will she waste on silly useless (to Luna) devices before Luna finally gets taken into God's realm.

I actually don't think the bumper car toy is the worst thing for a kid like Luna. There are even medical equipment companies that make similar products for kids with special needs. It's nice for them to be able to move independently and play on the floor with their peers, instead of being up high in a wheelchair or relying on a caregiver for moving them around. As with most things marketed at "special needs" people, the product I linked is expensive (more than $700 for something a kid will ideally outgrow pretty fast) and because it's manually powered, I doubt Luna could use it. However, I think the sentiment is great and if the toy is usable for Luna, I think it's nice that it will facilitate moving around and exploring in an age appropriate way. From what we've seen of her physical abilities, I'm not convinced that she has the head control or manual dexterity to use the car toy, and as far as I know she's cortically blind, but I hope I'm wrong and she enjoys exploring with it. The user submitted photos of the product I linked are basically unbearably cute and all of the kids seem to be really enjoying theirs.

It's certainly not the biggest waste of money we've seen Robin post. If nothing else, Atlas can play with it in a couple of years.

There's no exploring or enjoying anything for Luna. She's full potato.

Ugh, I know, dude. I know. I just hate thinking about that poor baby being dragged around and posed like a doll by her so-called mother.

I wish she could use that little motorized cart to hightail it the fuck outta there and find parents who didn't exploit the disabilities they caused for asspats on the internet. Maybe she could stick a sidecar on there and take Atlas with her.

For some reason she comes off as selfish enough to not let Atlas use it ever because "it's Luna's." I hope I'm wrong because a normal toddler would actually have a ball in that, but I get the vibe that everything for Luna is only for Luna, even though few if any of her toys are designed for disabled toddlers. We'll just see what happens.

No way. Mothering.com was the craziest ever. At one point someone was keeping a list -- not a short list -- of deaths in the unassisted birth forum.

My favourite Mothering cow is Kathryn Mathis. She's probably cross-referenced in multiple threads. (Insane parents of transgender children for sure, then she also has a potato kid, and an autist or two.) No new material, but there's enough old stuff for a good deep dive.

Ahhh this explains the telepathy, of course

This is late, but I was catching up on the thread and noticed some people claiming a video of Atlas showed seizure like activity. I took a look and my first thought was that it just looked like normal newborn rooting and other random movements. Any seizure in a newborn that I’ve witnessed didn’t present like that; I only mention all this because it may be more harmful than good to spread misinformation of speculated handicaps from Atlas when Luna has so many obvious and serious handicaps to focus on.

that user linked to the wrong video and corrected themselves. It was luna who was seizing, not atlas. There was no misinformation, just a formatting mistake.

I dont like commenting on kids, but usually infants have small noses. I have never seen one as bulbous as atlas's. Like his nostrils are non existent? Maybe just the filters ect,

Here’s one post about the warrior Kayli.

Posts about Kayli Whistler her are spread throughout the tard baby thread. Her mom has been less active since the covid drive by parades she tried to schedule for Kayli fizzled out. One of the better posts was her screaming about them not accompanying Kayli for swim time. But yes she ships this poor thing off to school dressed like an obscene doll everyday before covid.
If kayli's mom was still actively posting I would say she deserves a thread too considering she's basically the fundie version of Robyn. Complete with thinking her Spud communicates telepathically.

Though at least kayli's mom isn't the cause of her kid getting fucked up as far as we know (Kayli was just born with too many chromosomes and her deoxygenation event was likely related to that).

For powerlevel reasons I have a lot of experience with sped, but I've never seen any straight up potatoes like Kayli or Luna. Even the really severely disabled kids and kids in wheelchairs and shit were still clearly aware and responded to shit. Even at alternative schools. Are there special schools just for potatoes, or are potatoes that make it to school age just that rare?

Yep, that was me. Obviously I was wrong due to the mixup about the order of the videos.

However, in the last of the 2 videos that were posted, it appears that Luna has another seizure. Am I wrong about that too?

No that is a seizure in almost every post cluster there has been at least one vid of a siezure.

I don't have first hand experience, but it's a mix from what I gather

There was a UK TV show a while back that followed a group of disabled kids through their lives, with a season airing each year until they were about 10. It ranged from kids with minor medical issues like dwarfism or twisted hips. Some were cognitive ones eg Downs or severe autism and epilepsy. It was actually really interesting because as babies all of them were pretty much matching each other in terms of hospital time and development milestones, but as the years passed the differences became more and more apparent.

Anyway there was one kid who was doing the worst in every metric. She had some unknown disorder which caused very severe global delays. She never walked or talked but at least could show some response to voices and lights. She ended up with a feeding tube and tracheostomy and had to be monitored constantly as she would seize badly. Unsurprisingly she was constantly close to death during the series with infections and the seizures, constantly in and out of hospital.

They never sent her to school, they just had physical therapists come in. I think the UK government has protocols where it's clear that an almost non responsive potato isn't worth chasing for truancy. She died at around age 10 I think.

Ironically the family of that girl was also clearly the poorest with a single mum who couldn't work because the disabled kid needed monitoring 24/7. The dad had bailed and to be fair to her she really did do the best with the situation. The next worst off kid had severe autism and epilepsy which required multiple brain surgeries (in the end they removed some of his brain to relieve the seizures) and his very rich parents were able to buy a house near a farm so he could have animal therapy and it was quieter than the city for his autism etc.

That was a really good series:
Born to be Different

The girl ended up having Partial Trisomy 9p.

Found out they did a follow up in 2016 I never knew of gotta track that down now.

Oh damn, full or mosiac trisomy? I think the only trisomies I've seen come up in Tard Baby have been 21, 18, and 13 because everything else is completely incompatible with life. Though I guess being dead by age 10 counts as incompatible with life
