So what's the general consensus on Phil's financial state?
We all know he uses poverty as an excuse to not have to do things, and has never personally experienced such struggles as he doesn't understand that he can't cry poor and then brag about eating out at a buffet.
Yet at the same time, we know he's a compulsive spender that intrinsically HAS to spend outside of his means. His autism regarding Walmart is something else, I can't even tell if he was telling the truth or just came up with some wild defense as to why he shouldn't have to go to a cheaper alternative to where he normally spends. Like that picnic rant.
Lately with the Tips Goal being consistently hit, Phil has been having a harder and harder time trying to justify his begging. Yet there's still a part of me that thinks "You know, maybe Phil really did throw all his money away and he actually isn't in a good spot."
He certainly isn't as wealthy as he should be.
I think a lot of his problem can be explained by the fact that he doesn't understand the value of a dollar, and more important, has never been in a position that he doesn't get bailed out of when he doesn't have that dollar. He's never had to face the music of his spending habits and not buy groceries that week, or have his utilities cut off due to non payment and be two weeks away from a payday. Someone has always stepped up to the plate for him, all his life; He's been robbed of this life lesson, and now he (so far, correctly) believes that if he cries loud enough, someone will give him what he needs. Slight powerlevel, but I was a shitty irresponsible teenager that left home way too early at 15, and when I'd pick up the phone and cry to mommy that I don't have enough for X, the money would magically appear in my account the next day. So, being a selfish little shit, I started fabricating expenses and the money would show up, until she figured out the game and never sent another cent. It's the exact same with our boy Burnell, he's learned that if you turn up the tears, the money appears. Except every time someone figured out the game, a new whale pops into existence by some stroke of blind luck. No household has the 20+ bills he somehow manages, and biweekly taxes. He's cultivated a gathering of whales that don't question where their money goes, don't care, for whatever reason. So he knows that every day is bill day, and he needs that money or something bad will happen, guys, seriously, I can't tell you what, but it'll be bad!

Like everyone on the board says: his brain is trapped at some adolescent goalpost, unable to grow any further, so he tries to capture what success was to him at 16 and mommy was combing his hair and daddy was sending him kisses goodnight over the phone every night. Nice car, house with a garage, appearance of money, wife to cook and clean, 'full time' job, big toys, eating out. I want to say he has arrested development, but the thing is, he hasn't stopped developing, he's actively becoming less developed. Over his online career, his ability to play games has declined, his ability to adapt or create has declined, his ability to interact with others has declined, it's like some otherworldly force is sapping the life out of him and some unknowable power is throwing an ever increasing amount of fools at him to keep him just alive enough to create content.

So what gives out first? The shell, or the fools?

i wonder how phil will manage when he eventually hits, lets say 50 or 60. He doesnt have a safety net money wise that i know of(please correct me) So that begs the question of whats his actual plan for when he reaches seniority. His living expenses by then will be hard to mantain since he wont receive retirement money thingy since he hasnt worked enough to earn that. If so he and kat will eventually have to move out to a smaller place to accomodate. Honestly i see him hitting a dead end when eventually he wont be playing games due to age or some health shit.

When's the last new release he's purchased aside from the cheap GnG Resurrection? He seems to be playing old fart cheap games and I thought he was all about the new release day 1 views.

His schedule has been almost the same 4-5 games for months now. Some variety streamer. Like, bruh, no one wants to see you do penne wagers on "I spawn I die" of Bitching Duty three times a week. He wagequit games faster than this since it got fuckin' nothing compared to others three times in a row.
The last full priced release he bought was Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury which he played from 2/12 until 3/21.

Phil has gone on record saying that he liquidated his retirement account from his old job to help fund his move to WA. When he said he wiped out his savings during the move, he meant everything. As of the bankruptcy filing on 1/31/20 he had $0 in retirement accounts.

His safety net is OIC, Swagginz, Timobslice, and straightcuckhomie.

but fr DSP when he is 50 will be a sight to see

can't wait to be in the "Save The Retirement Fund" saga, everyday him begging that he needs money to save up for retirement as he can't be busting his ass like this for the rest of his life! He'll be straight up falling asleep in his chair and shit

well has he said whats his plan? or does he expects to do this until his dying breath?

The only plan he's mentioned is the 10 year plan in which he milks streaming for the next 10 years to get out from underneath his taxes and financially stabilize then transitions to a more stable, salaried job.

nah remember, his plan he came up with his parents on his vacation to get married was that phil was to get a job by the age of 50, there's a website for it too

If there's anything we have to give Dave credit for, it's his ability to playact keeping composure on stream. How can he feel secure with his alleged financial situation behind the scenes, being in an expensive condo, perpetually owing Uncle Sam bags of money, and being in supposed dire financial straits every week? He makes ok money from his ♿ 's, but his luxury short bus occupants are what keep him afloat. It must be some impotent power trip someone like OIC is on, knowing Dave needs him, and he holds this power to take all of his security away. Too bad he's too much of a faggot to actually do something with this power.

Of course, this is discounting that DSP may just be lying through his fucking teeth about his financial situation, which there's precedence for. All I know is, is I wouldn't want some dude on the internet being my only means of security. No wonder he defends him like a son would defend his father, DSP loses large amounts of revenue if OIC goes away.

im just repeating what the big man himself has said. he seems to fully intend to stop streaming and walk into Microsoft or Boeing and get a 120k+ position.
I know, and it's so far outside the realm of possibility that I'm confident that, if the multiverse theory of reality is correct, there does not exist a single version of Earth in which Phil Burnell has a position of authority in a company which has contracts with the American Department of Defense.

DSP's 20 save files in Divinity gives me anxiety. Dear god, PLEASE just have 1 SAVE FILE PER PLAYTHROUGH. If you're so worried about crashing and shit, MAKE A BAKEUP EACH TIME. 2 MAX, 1 PREFERABLY. WHY DOES HE HAVE 20

It's also a tactic for creating rollbacks in case the game you're playing corrupts its save files or (more likely) you encounter a game-breaking bug or other hard stop on progression that you may need to work around several hours back.

I'd say that this is a prudent thing to do especially on a PC where saving is very fast and can be done with a macro but this is Phil, who is not playing on a PC, is not prudent, and is very definitely not a stranger to taking his ball and going home if things don't go his way, so I'm going to chalk this up to laziness or being a retard, as others already have.
The question no one is asking is what celeb was on their deathbed today? :stress: :story:

TLDR "buying time to think of something"

Because he can't keep the 'bad back' lie going if he thinks he's going to get a stable, salaried job. It's a fucking nightmare trying to get hired out of college if you don't have contacts or an insane resume out of the gate. Phil's literally got nothing. What, some job at a helicopter factory that was probably entry level, and then ultimately a mediocre fighting game career before he provably spiraled down with a gacha addiction and bankruptcy?

He has no applicable skills, he's in his 50s with back problems, he has no contacts...a literal ex-con right out of prison for murder charges is more desirable than this guy.

He also has the worst google search results imaginable. If you somehow brought Goebbels back from the dead at least he could get a gig writing for Stormfront. On the off chance he does actually need to apply somewhere at some point in his life some poor HR schmuck better hope they have five hours to spend on what is certain to be the defining rabbit hole of their career.

But he hurt his back playing football...
He never played football in his life. Too many black people.

I wish I could bring up the video where he said he has no Plan B. He has no idea what to do when he hits 50, 60, 70 years old. Just look at his bankruptcy forms. This guy saves no money. NO MONEY. The only thing I can give Phil credit on is his condo is gaining equity. Thats it. And whats sad is he is in Seattle, a hotbed for tech. If he was smart he would translate his 13 years of social media, Youtube, and Twitch experience and use that on his resume for a gaming company or something else.

I've been to Seattle and you can't walk downtown without finding some tech upstart or meeting people in tech. But Phil is so toxic and trapped in his house he won't capitalize in his surroundings.

So as far as what you wonder what he will do in his later years?

BEG.
