Hack The Movies is basically Tony trying to be like RLM, but ending up like Allison Pregler's show Movie Nights.View attachment 2073057
James did bring up he went to Las Vegas last year to plan for a future AVGN episode, so it's good to see him finally making it. That being said, I know nothing about Hack the Movies, is it a good show?

Yeah because touching Hollywood doesnt ruin people, lets be real if he get near them 8 out of 10 he is going to be forced to be political and he will burn what he had or could haveLol, I'm just leaving this shit here:
James is retired and he doesn't give a shit. He even refused to star in a major horror movie which would grant him a lot of connections in Hollywood and possibly even a producer for his next short film. He obviously gave up on life right now.
His lack of ambition is astounding and sad.
The only frustrating part of these videos is James' ignorance of game mechanics. He doesn't spin jump once on the Super Mario World level.

i prefer him sperging on YouTube
that's the problem with Hollywood hopefuls. its all or nothing. strike big or broken dreams. no one wants to be the 2nd string guy even though its a respectable job.You guys need to understand; the fucker is 40 and looks the way he does. There's no Hollywood future for him and he's not delusional enough to think there would be. I'm sure a cameo somewhere would be neat but lets not sit here and think he's pissing away golden opportunity "over nothing". Dude is smack dab into middle age with responsibility now. If he wasn't gonna parlay his YouTube fame into something substantial in 2011 or 2012, it ain't happening now.
At some point reality has to set in too, though.that's the problem with Hollywood hopefuls. its all or nothing. strike big or broken dreams. no one wants to be the 2nd string guy even though its a respectable job.
he can mooch off that King Kong guy to make him land some small 2nd line director or stuff like that. And he can work at it to make it a steady job. but no, I think James is a dream big guy and wouldn't settle for anything less than the top spot.
Couldnt have said it better. The cinnemassacre truth subreddit and threads on v or tv are full of people who think he could be doing great things and arnt living up to their standards. You guys need to understand; the fucker is 40 and looks the way he does. Alejandro Jodorowsky did Fandy & Lis when he was 38 and El Topo when he was 40. Alan Rickman got his big break in Die Hard when he was 40. Charles Bukowski made it on his own as a poet at 49.Life doesn't end at 40, though. Mike Stoklasa is 42, and Ridley Scott was 40 when he made his first film after doing tv for years... I don't think anyone expects James Rolfe to become a successful filmmaker out of the blue, but it's kind of disappointing to see him abandon all of his creative pursuits. For the longest time he was this goofy but passionate youtuber who was trying to make it as a B-movie/genre movie director, and it was inspirational to some degree. In every interview, and until recently, he was always specifying: "people know me for the AVGN, but I'm really a movie guy and an indie director." A Movie Making Nerd, the title of his autobiography. And now he's reading bad scripts, alone in his garage in front of a green-screen. A bit depressing for his ex-fans.
