I just think for specifically understanding code he was always gonna be fucked. Like you said, a good workaround would have been picking another course or something cause this is straight up not for him.
The main problem is that Chibi in his 30s, but it seems that he has 0 abstract thinking, even though it's one of the first things you learn at math classes - "two apples plus three apples is five apples", that's how they learn you to understand numbers, even though they can be applied to anything. That's also why Chibi can't understand algorithms.

He may be dogshit at math, but he's really good at manipulating other autists. He cried his sob story on discord about how hes been at this homework for 9 straight hours and still doesnt get it, even though we know he was just simping on twitter and probably watching porn for most of those 9 hours, and got someone to feel bad enough for him to do the entire homework assignment Thats why i dont believe his autism is as much as a crutch as he lets on. He has enough awareness and brain function to manipulate others, if he wasnt such a lazy piece of shit and actually applied himself, im sure he could squeeze out a c in this fucking class.im sure the problem is, hes just never had to apply himself. Throughout his schooling, it seems like him and his mom just played the autism card to get by, and now that its not working on his college professors, hes got to try a different angle

It might be Chibi's class got divided into group assignments and the people this Bill Gates the Second whines about doing homework are forced to tugboat him.

Seriously, how can you not understand difference between = and ==?
My only guess is Chibi doesn't code anything his wranglers... err, teachers don't request.

This is exactly what I was talking about, albeit in Chris's case. No one made him to try harder, so he didn't. He bragged about being honor roll, even though his school papers show, that he was average at best. And that's probably why he had galpals.

Same goes for Chibi - he's been obnoxious faggot for all his life, but people, including his mother, excused him for being "young and autistic", so he's never learned to act like a normal human. Now he is 30 and that kind of behavior is inexcusable, yet he can't grasp it. That's why he surrounds himself with teenagers - they are juvenile and stupid enough to tolerate him.

Why should he? It doesn't look that way in anime.

I mean, Chibi isn't nearly as autistic as Chris and not even close to autists, who can't talk and refuse any physical contact. Chibi is 30% autism, 70% bad parenting
Reminder that "autism" & "aspergers" have been grossly overdiagnosed in the past 20-30 years for the sole purpose of selling overpriced (but dirt cheap to manufacture), brain-melting prescription drugs to children.

From what I know, real life autistics tend to play Zork and derivatives, not fucking Nintendo.

I don't know if there is any official terminology for it, but I think there is at least some recognized difference between "noticeably socially awkward" and "high-functioning autistic." Although, perhaps the only real difference is whether the psychiatrist is receiving a kickback on the prescription for the latter.

I agree, I think Chibi is just socially awkward due to a poor upbringing. He could probably overcome it, but that would require him to honestly confront those uncomfortable existential feelings he described and stop baiting people for sympathy and ass pats.

A member of my family was evaluated by a psychiatrist due to a suspected autism diagnosis. He was told that he is only socially awkward but not autistic, and now is receiving actual useful therapy to deal with it. A lot of his past behavior reminds me of Chibi, but that's purely anecdotal.

Eh, no, he is autistic, mildly, but autistic. Bad upbringing played a large part in his rising to cowdom, but bad upbringing alone can't make you do "dark energy collar, that makes you breathe" bullshit.

Easy way to tell is if he displayed some of the telling autism tics such as sensitivity to the back of the neck being touched or always needing to fiddle with things. I can't think of him displaying these behaviors off the top of my mind and there's not too terribly much video content of him out there, but that's one of the best ways to determine real autism from an awkward kid who was wrongfully diagnosed.

Dude's a prison bitch-tier socially awkward loser. This is what happens when you pay away your kid's tantrums with Nintendo, but how does that equal to autism?
I’m no psychiatrist - maybe Chibi really does have mild autism - but I don’t think the collar thing is enough to say that for certain.

Something that makes me think he doesn’t really have autism is that he is somewhat self-aware about how other people see his more odd behaviors and it seems like he has learned to respond to certain social pressures, hence why he doesn’t wear the collar anymore. I would be more convinced that he does have some form of mild autism if he never changed any of his awkward behavior, which I think would indicate there is something preventing him from developing any kind of social intelligence.

Feel free to keep calling him autistic because that word has basically become a catch-all term for the socially inept, but in point of fact it doesn’t seem to me like Chibi actually has any mental impairment beyond his poor personal character.

I disagree with that. Even Chris abandoned his attraction sign when Barb told him, that it makes his chances even lower.

which in psychology doesn't have much in common with autism
Eh, that's why they can't decide if it should be a separate diagnosis or "autism spectrum disorder"? And that's why high-functioning autism and Asperger's syndrome become indistinguishable by school age?

or always needing to fiddle with things
Aspies do that too.

High-functioning autism kit grants +4 to Perception checks, but -2 Int penalty and forces you to roll for sensory overload each day or you're stunned for the next 1d4 hours. OTOH Aspie kit grants you resistance to tedium, +2 bonus to all your class skills and losing only half Fortitude from performing them at the cost of -2 Dex, -2 Cha and double the exp cost for learning skills not covered by your base class.

But seriously I've seen a case of Aspergers diagnosed in a rather neurotypical person who suffered a brief psychotic episode but didn't check enough schizo symptoms to warrant that, so ask yourself how much those diagnoses are worth.

Did Chibi stop using the collar because his mother said so too? I had assumed he quit wearing it because he finally realized it looked stupid, but if I’m wrong about that then I concede that the Asperger’s diagnosis might be legit.

I think the fact that autism has a wide spectrum makes it such a hard thing to diagnose someone with a mild case of it. Whos to say someone just isnt socially awkward or has some other mental disorder and not mildly autistic. I believe once you get to that side of the spectrum the lines start to blur. Im no expert in the matter so im sure theres some telltale signs i dont know about. My only real life experience with autism is on the other side of the spectrum where these kids cannot function at all in the real world, so thats usually what i immediately think of when i hear autistic.

And im not saying that chibi is autistic or not, i have no idea, but if he is it just seems to affect him socially because ive watched some streams of his from years ago, and he seems like he all there mentally with how he speaks. He just has a horrible decision making ability, which im not sure if its a sign of autism or not.
