TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

So I've been spending most of the day thinking about how I would respond to Lindsay's video.
Honestly I think it's dawned on me that Ellis has achieved a self-fulfilling prophecy of becoming the female Doug Walker.
I think after this debacle she's going to be like Walker in the sense that she'll largely be irrelevant but have dedicated fans that will hoover around her videos.
The left has become too extreme for her to enter the waters calmly so they'll largely just turn their back on her and as we speak they're already hyping up even more emotionally woke creators on YouTube.
I’m not sure if her ego can handle that

I don't think it's that they're "too extreme" so much as that she, like someone earlier pointed out about "Breadtube hubris", is that she's just way too fucking out of touch with those outside of the.. uh, "academic elite" that she can't help but come across like a cunt, and is actually so much of a cunt that she can't even fake coming across as sincere. I do agree with the female Doug comparison, but that's the result of her own ego and attitude, not her community spiraling into an extremism cycle.

talking about cancel culture with out actually naming cancel culture as she exposed at the beginning of her video that that would be cultural appropriation or something
"A friend of mine named it The Beast. The name for this fear that we all live under but don't acknowledge."
You stupid idiot...
"And over the last few years I have had so many of my colleagues, all of them women, people of color, trans people, queer people, or SOME combination of the above, voice to me the constant anxiety that they live with about maybe saying something wrong that will on the bad side of their own communities. Every thought is a hostage situation. "Is this the tweet that's going to sink me?" So what do we call it? What is the name for this unspoken, unacknowledged culture of fear where we all know that one misstep can ruin our lives? This social media culture where we participate in the public shaming one day and become chained to the pillory next. We can't even talk about it because The Beast does not have a name. If we admit that this is a problem then the Right will just take it and run with it and use it to increase their own power, same as they did with cancel, same as they did with woke, same as they did with fake news. If it has a name then it has power so it is a discussion that cannot be had. And so we do not have it. We say "Cancel culture doesn't exist" and ignore this disease, pretend it isn't doing real harm, not just to individuals who are targeted but to the state of discourse in general"
LOL

BOO HOO. Woe is thee for the terminally online twitter addicts and influencers scared for getting backlash for unpopular opinions - something everyone gets online, all the time. If your so scared, get offline and get a REAL job your cunts.

... And also shameless nepotism."
Lindsay admits she got to where she is because of bullshit hiring policies and seeks to replicate it to others

That alone means she deserves to fuck off from her YT & author career. She stole opportunities of someone more talented than she is, possibly an asian or black women/troon.

The bit in between the jump cuts feels really strongly of her going back and realizing that she NEEDS to throw in the aside of Bob being an insufferable cunt and had to go back and film it.
"But if there are consequences when I do something awful. . .it is the fault of NAWTSEEEEES not ME!"

Lindsay complaining about how her white supremacist tweet about the dragon movie being compared to hate crimes and saying it's not valid criticism is funny as fuck. Like, what were you expecting from people who believe in microaggressions? People who believe in microaggressions believe in the snowball fallacy of nipping mean words in the bud before they blossom into genocide. That's why they use the rhetoric "literally worse than Hitler."

she mostly needs to be concerned about appealing to white people that want an excuse to forgive her. As long as she repeats that she's sorry and white people are awful she'll probably recover just fine.
Hmm, good point. I hadn't considered there might be white people who actually want to forgive her. I'm so used to far-right Kiwi Farms Nazis being the evil white people of choice that I didn't consider she might be trying to point the finger at a subset of wokescolds rather than all of them.

Well, she's right about this. She has direct personal knowledge about exactly this form of performative wokeness. She helped invent it.
She's right about a lot of it honestly, it's just surprising to see her trying to use the truth as a defense against cancel culture. You'd think she'd know better.

There is just something deliciously ironic about one of the biggest cheerleaders for canceling JK Rowling sobbing into a wine bottle on camera when the mob comes for her.

If I were better it memes, it would make a golden "how it started vs how its going" comparison.
Be the memes you want to see in the world.

Oh she's upset about having to walk on eggshells all the time?

Lindsay and her ilk have been firmly on the side of the rabid twitter morons for years now, and now she admits that her and other people she knows feel uncomfortable with having to watch everything they say? Well Lindsay, that's the world you helped make. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Want some advice? Stop pandering to these very loud and very obnoxious idiots. Seriously, as a society, we've just collectively decided to bend to the will of a bunch of hyper active and hyper sensitive nut jobs. Can we just, I don't know, not do that anymore?

Lindsay saying "people of color" (because she's racist) get worn down by a "low-key shitty society", then walking that back and changing to "high-key shitty society" rustled my jimmies.

No, the United States is not 'high-key' shitty at all, you've never lived in Nazi Germany, you've never lived in a WW2 ghetto, you've never been sent to a gulag, you've never had to deal with the Stasi, you haven't even had a real proper struggle session since those are meant to occur in person. The United States is literally the only place on Earth with protected free speech and people like you have been intentionally driving it into the dirt by artificially damaging race relations with your rhetoric. You contributed to the dynamics others proscribed for you. You did not help to foster good will, you fostered backstabbing & opportunism.

Every time Lindsay says something stupid like "We live in a white supremacist society" I just want to poke my head through my monitor to hers and tell her "Shut up, loser."

I also love when she says "Not just the whites, all of us!" so black, Asian, Spanish, American Indian, India Indian and mulatto people are all white supremacist?

You're saying that... you're a white supremacist?

supposedly, it's us, but I resent the accusation as I eat what I want!

...Lindsay's crocodile tears, in this case.
I thought we were the hardcore Nazis, you know, the one that are so out in the far right that no one would give a shit about what we have to say about little miss clever video essay here.

this mess is yours and people of your ilk Lindsay, don't drag us into this bullshit, we are just laughing it up here.

"I'm a white woman from Tennessee, my family is mostly uneducated white trash."

Wow, not a hint of reservation or hesitation. If I were her dad I would've disowned her for that.

Is that an actual quote? I am not sitting through that overly long mess of a video, but did she actually say that? Christ man.

These people can look down on the Red States all they want, but I just recently took a trip out to the midwest to one of those fly over solid red states. You know what I saw? In addition to very nice people that, from what I saw, exhibited no racism or bigotry to the "people of color" that were there, there were nature preserves, wildlife, and the state wasn't an overly populated mess. And it was all run by hard working and talented people with skills that they use to benefit their smaller communities. Without giving away which state it was, I'll say that the artwork I saw there was also way more admirable than the modern art garbage I see in more progressive cities.

Speaking of that, you know what I saw the last time I was in New York City? Trash everywhere, people being dicks, very little nature, and the city was an overcrowded mess, ultimately leaving a pretty big carbon footprint. And the city is infested with untalented people who talk about how deep they are, how smart they are, and all the great ideas they have, but do nothing but talk and preach which they use to gain money and influence.

Appears to me like this hillbilly hayseed state that's full of white supremacists I visited is doing a better job of accomplishing the things these assholes only talk about.

Yes, she did, I'll get you a timestamp.

The reason why they're so unaccomplished is because they obsess over shit like critical race theory.

50 minute mark, finishing talking about the fallout from her saying that Zack Snyder hated his mother right when his daughter killer herself
"I'm also sure that the many, MANY, Snyder fans who have told me to kill myself in the last four years because of this tweet just didn't *nose inhale* know about my own history"
PROMPTLY followed by this

"either way I'm sure it's an issue they all care deeply, deeply about"
*takes a shot*

Fuck off Ellis. Produce receipts and stop with this pity shit.
Absolutely pathetic. This is not the trial of SnyderFan214, or his 3 mutuals. This is on you and your words and the world you want to create. And for every singular "kill yourself" you got, Lindsay, there were hundreds more people who saw you attack a man who had nothing to do with you, and they saw what it said about the kind of person you are. They care. They think treating people respectfully is important, and you've just told them you don't. No amount of hate cast your way erases your decisions, and it's spineless and pathetic to hide behind that. Show some goddamn decency, and people would defend you. Or keep playing this game and slowly realize that nothing you do has mattered because you won't stand up for anything but your own self-preservation.

lol keep snyder's name out of your mouth!!!! i just can't believe she drags up stuff that has nothing to do with anything, she just wants you to know how UNBOTHERED she is
