• Even in her explanation of her unpopular take on the Prince of Egypt, she's misleading on the events of the movie to suggest that it "functionally excuses the mass-slaughter of children." What's critically missing from what she shows (possibly by her intention) is that immediately after Moses "morosely peaces out", he breaks down weeping alone. She also overly simplifies the motivation of Ramses to being "such a stubborn jerk", ignoring his daddy issues and fear of being the "weak link" of his dynasty.

She's entitled to her horrible opinion, but more than anything, this "take" just proves to me she isn't good at media criticism. She intentionally misreads the story beats to justify a weak fedora tip. The movie opens with a horrific look at the EGYPTIANS mass slaughtering children. Of course the film gives it proper weight. Even when the Egyptians lose everything they took from the slaves, they still don't see them as equals. It's also one of the few stories that THREE Abrahamic religions agree on, so that tells you how easy it is to understand the plot and the moral.

I've never seen her explain something in her videos that wasn't extremely obvious. It's all either obvious or wrong.

Larry Bundy Jr. has children, IIRC. But he also has a real career outside of Internet video, was successful before he joined them, and really does not fit in with them anyway.

"The Beast" is probably the best part of Lindsay's video, the closest she comes to recognizing and acknowledging the awfulness of the culture of fear she and her like have fostered. Unfortunately, her takeaway appears to be that the culture is only bad because it attacked her and her friends, encouraging it otherwise.

You hit the nail directly on the head. If the topic requires "further explanation" or if it's "more complicated" (basically absolving you of blame) then don't fucking apologize. It's worse to get a fake apology than none.
