I think that thing just looks bigger because she has actually lost some weight. Mainly in her face.
So that blob is just protruding more and is thus more noticeable. Where it used to be more covered by her lowest chin and face fat.

Yes. Chantal admitted to filing for bankruptcy years ago after her and Peetz were slammed with a shit-ton of credit card debt the last time they lived together.
The reality is that her time with Bibi was probably the only time in her life she was at least somewhat financially disciplined and it was probably an extension of Bibi's financial discipline. But now that she's been living with Peetz again for a year, it would not surprise me if she's back to her old ways and racking up a ton of credit card debt, even if she lies and says that isn't the case.

If something broke inside of her and she truly is able to lose weight, she will be shocked into stopping very soon. The sheer amount of skin on that awful head is astounding. She is going to look like (even more of) a monster with any decent weight loss. She's almost 40, nearly bald, without estrogen - the ship on skin elasticity has sailed.
Maybe we're already seeing the effects that weight loss is having on her face. Maybe it's in our imaginations. But her previously mentioned fear of loose skin was likely around her body. I don't think she's even considered the effect of loose skin on her face, chins, and neck.
It's hard to think of a 400lber as vain, but that's Chantal. She's strangely proud of her face, and thinks that it mitigates her body in some way. What will she do when the chins starts sagging, the wrinkles form, and then she's truly left with nothing but improved health? She'll be binging on purpose in no time.
