I have heard that Trevor is not good with criticism and there is a moment where he proves this to be true. Michael talks about Trevor fumbling words and the chat calling him out for it. Trevor gets visibly upset at Michael for bringing this up, insisting that the chat did not do that. He explains his use of a certain word and then raises his voice and starts swinging his arms around. Michael then quickly backpedals by complimenting Trevor's vocabulary and explaining that he was wrong. This seems to placate Trevor, he calms down and says "Sometimes I use big boy words." Michael then says that Matt had just texted him to tell him he is an idiot. Lindsay chimes in and says that she appreciates the way Trevor uses words. The conversation shifts a bit but they go on to talk about how they should should not give each other so much shit when the mispronounce a word/use the wrong word. Trevor is very pleased with this. He also later makes a point to state that he is the manager at Achievement Hunter and even brags about his vocabulary.

Something else I noticed that in the whole conversation they didn't use the word flub once. AH flubs a lot and they have always used that word to describe it. Anyone else remember that? It almost seemed like they were actively trying to not say the word flub because they used to use it so commonly. Which I think is something that they would do because Ryan was known for his flubs as they were particularly egregious.

This is the epitome of what people have talked about the difference between the old core AH and the new AH. Being able to tease each other and laugh at themselves was one of the things that drew people to view their content.

You see this in standup comedy now especially in NYC where they have turned the scene into the shitty LA comedy scene. Back in the day, the table at The Cellar was legendary for great comics sitting there and trashing each other. That was the fuel for the show Tough Crowd on Comedy Central. But eventually through death (Patrice O'Neal and Greg Giraldo) and comics moving to California to act (Bill Burr) the table started to die. Newer younger comics took their place and they are a bunch of thin skinned faggots that can't take humorous ball busting and the scene started to die because of it.

In all honesty this is probably because it's all been filmed already and Trevor probably said this to try and be funny but it just ends up falling flat.

But to be serious for a moment it seems AH really does have this attitude about a lot of what they do. I think it comes from their history being primarily YouTube videos where reading the comments is cancer. The problem is they're clearly transitioning to a streaming based future but still maintaining this philosophy that the fans are idiots and AH knows better which is an awful perspective to have when you have to interact with a live chat all day.

It would be better for everyone involved if they returned to the prerecorded videos, but those require a lot more views to be profitable unlike livestreaming so I doubt they'd ever be able to make it work again with how much clout they've lost over the years. You can only tell your fans to leave so many times before it kills your viewership. Also losing most of the funny people over the years through poor business practices and some of them being sex pests, although the latter couldn't be helped, Ryan's just an idiot and they got unlucky.

Well, considering how these guys managed to keep being a living Let's Play channel instead of just shifting to purely being "The Minecraft Guys" or "The GTAV" guys, I'm willing to bet they think they can do pretty much anything since they just stick to those games instead of just being a general gaming channel and keeping their fingers on the pulses on the gaming scene.
