I figured Chauvin was gonna get convicted. It's been a hot ass minute since a cop got convicted, and the peasants were starting to revolt.

Gotta throw one to the wolves every now and then. If you don't, the social unrest that will follow will do even more harm. Literally no one is under any illusions of the justice system being perfect, so that being the case, may as well rig it for strategic utilitarian harm reduction.

The guy is a cop so their is no way he is put in with the regular population. Minnesota probably has a special wing for such persons. He will get protective custody by himself in a cell. A little better than solitary but not but much.

They did. They rioted in DC and tried to overwhelm the White House while setting a historic church on fire and media was upset at Trump for being a fascist for trying to stop the “peaceful protests”

Now now, much like the Rayshard Brooks situation, you can assault two police officers, steal their weapon (a taser), and then fire said taser at police, and still be charged with murder.

I've got a friend on the force in a city of ~100,000. He's told me that the beat cops used to ride their beats when not on calls. Since the Floyd thing happened, they go park their cruiser behind businesses between calls and then slow roll to all calls (like you mentioned, even Code 4). The only time they step it up is for backup calls. I don't blame them one bit.
