I don't understand the purpose of these clone sites. It would make sense if they had some kind of draw beyond not being run by Null. From what it looks like the only reason even onion farms was mildly successful is because it acted as a refugee camp for people who pissed off or got pissed off by the staff of this website.

SIG, APC, and Vex made Onion Farms for what it was. But now Vex is back in hiding, along with Ken's former admins having enough of him, its going down.

I think a Kiwi-like site is possible, but you need to have the right people running it.

"kiwi-like" is the key here. It seems like every time it's attempted it ends up looking like kiwi farms with a paint job and literally nothing else unique about it beyond being run by somebody else. Obviously I don't think KF should be the only place that you should be able to discuss lolcows and other e drama, but this fixation on being kiwifarms with blackjack and hookers is self limiting the potential of the community imo.

You can't really have a site like Kiwi Farms that isn't run by a stubborn, socially-inept and ODD-diagnosed madboy. People want 'Kiwi Farms but run by somebody who doesn't upset people with his strong opinions and lack of social tact' which is kind of like wanting to hang out in a traphouse that isn't run by criminals.
