My opinion on jefferson is that he was a christian (if a deist), which was his chief stumbling block on ethical matters. I am not American, I have no problem calling jefferson a dumbass. Not acknowledging the debt neoliberalism owes to marxism does you a disservice in understanding it, especially outside the American context, in britain, germany or france for example. All these people are the same. Biden (or his handlers) are not jeffersonians, they are modern neo liberals who have the ambition to erect global governance structures. Even Neoliberal as a term feels sort of dated, not sure I like it.

My personal view is, as with socialism, liberty and equality are good things as long as they are bounded by a people, a tradition and in the modern context a nation. There is zero chance for compromise with neo liberal types over these boundaries.

Sometimes you can't debate stupid everyone has a right to freedom, to prosper or die trying. Those who say otherwise are either morons or so up there ass in there need for power.

My reply to that is yes and no.

What anti woke would want to do is create infrastructure (whatever its for. Paypal, social media) for extremely specialized purposes and for small groups.

The other thing anti woke woukd want to do is degrade mainstream stuff such as Facebook best they can. Facebook and the like scared non American politicians into restricting silicon valley. Why? Because they seen what was done to trump and dont want it happening to them. This is creating balkanization of the internet and ought be helped whenever one can. Another idea to balkanize the internet is via religious groups. Convince a few immans the clear net is haaram and offer to build a halal internet. Stuff like that.

Which leads to the third stragetgy that is gathering allies and driving wedges between groups.

There might be a small town mayor whose self interests would be served better by turning against state or federal level officials. Like wise driving a wedge between groups based on geographical identity might work too. So, I've had some more time to chew over the situation happening in the US and what I've realized is it's like the episode of Star Trek The Next Generation, The Drumhead.

Basically something has gone wrong and everyone starts pointing the finger at everyone else, accusing everyone of great, grand conspiracies, it's also like the pen and paper RPG game Paranoia, because in a climate of increasing paranoia the irony is, everyone does start to conspire against each other.

We point the finger at blacks and Jews and accuse them of conspiring against us, yet here we are casually throwing around racial slurs and talk about race wars, are we not conspiring against them? Should they be right to mistrust us?

In a climate of paranoia and a low trust society everyone does conspiring against everyone else, in this case the different demographics of America, because we're not being totally honest with each other, we're not laying all our cards on the table, so we point the finger at each other accusing each other of doing stuff that if we're honest we are doing, but only because we're paranoid ourselves about what others may be planning for us.

And around and around it goes in a vicious cycle until it results in something like the end of Reservoir Dogs.

I've certainly been guilty of plenty of paranoia and conspiracy talk myself, maybe I do need to dial it back, maybe we should all dial it back on the extreme rhetoric?

This verdict is fucking insanity. The fact that it only took the jury 10 hours to decide means they were leaning toward guilty before they even started deliberating. Chauvin was fucked before he even first set foot inside that courtroom. He'll now mostly likely spend the rest of his life in solitary because the chances of him getting shanked by some lifer with nothing to lose are astronomical.

Urban areas are doomed. If the cops have any sense they'll just show up to shovel up the bodies after most incidents now. Every criminal that is being arrested has the magic words: "i can't breathe". to stop the process.

I know most Kiwis with sense already know this but get to a rural area as soon as possible. Cities and even the suburbs are going to turn into utter hellholes right quick.
