I have respect for those that hold the line that he was guilty. Maybe he was. Don't think so but who cares what I think. It certainly was not good optics, as they say. Chauvin was that not so rare thing: an unlikeable pig. We've all dealt with them. He got his. If it wasn't this it wouldn't have been something else. I still think it was unfair on him though.

We wanted the virtuous result of some semblance of justice in this country (and I say this as a bong - we all Americans now!), just so we could all cope a little more at knowing that the take away had slowed down a bit, AND they wanted to know that there was no god damn justice in this god forsaken country and so it was needed to BURN IT ALL FUCKING DOWN.
We wanted a not guilty, 2nd. They wanted the same thing. For different reasons. No one got what they wanted.
In fact, that is why they went to extremes. With the verdict. That is why it became the first case of super murder/manslaughter evah. To disorientate us all further. It really did disarm.
But this 'result' was not done for the greater good of society. It was done to gaslight it more.

A not guilty or 2nd man, would have given us what we want - Justice. And it would have also given (((them))) the righteous excuse to behave very badly, rioting, stealing, killing.
