Covid: Man arrested after infecting 22 people in Majorca

A man has been arrested in Spain on suspicion of assault after allegedly infecting 22 people with Covid.
The 40-year-old is alleged to have continued to go to work and the gym despite having a cough and a temperature of more than 40C (104F).
He is said to have walked around his place of work in Majorca, pulling his mask down, coughing and telling colleagues he was going to infect them.
Five colleagues and three fellow gym goers later tested positive.
Another 14 people - family members of the infected - also came down with Covid, including three one-year-olds.

In a statement released on Saturday, Spanish police said the man had been exhibiting symptoms for a number of days, but refused to go home from work in the town of Manacor.
He took a PCR test one evening, but then went to work and the gym the next day while awaiting the results.
His colleagues told him to go home, but he refused, police said. He would then pull down his mask, cough and say: "I'm going to infect you all with coronavirus."
When his test came back positive, colleagues were "alarmed", according to police, who have been investigating the allegations since late January.
None of the people became seriously ill, police said.

Doubt the can prove this idiot gave them covid sadly, however should be a fucking big jail sentence for going out while knowingly having covid, it the same thing as knowingly spreading aids.

But this brings up a bigger issue, how many idiots that are showing the signs of covid or have been officially diagnosed with it are failing to do self isolation to stop the spread, we really should be starting to treat them as the aids spreaders/bug chasers they are.
Semper fi to this brave hero. The quicker we spread the disease, the quicker herd immunity is achieved. Take your holy vaccine sacrament if you're afraid of the coof.

You seem like you have aids, if you ever get laid make sure to tell them first. You wouldn't want to go to jail right?

Also you really should read the story first, he went around pulling his mask down and coughing at people in the face saying he was going to give them covid while he was waiting for a test. I know you are pro aids and covid but it a bit of a bad look to not have read the story before hand.
Yeah he was doing them a favor. Now if he was coughing on a lard bucket that might be different, but for the young and healthy catching Covid is a GOOD thing as 1) the government won't be pushing you to get injected with experimental vaccines and 2) you will vastly lessen the risk of being infected with an even more deadly form of airborne AIDS on account of the experimental vaccines being non sterilizing shit.

Understand that for people with a normally functioning immune system the coof is significantly less dangerous than the seasonal flu. Would you be calling for the imprisonment of someone spreading the flu when he went for a work out? Or are you claiming that this gym was catering for land whales only?

Almost all medical reporting by the news is fake and gay and objectively makes the situation for medicine worse, because it is so obviously fake and gay that people decide everything they have to offer is wrong, instead of just the fake and gay parts. I wish they'd shut the fuck up already, but this is how they're replacing their "drumpf bad" $$$ they lost after 2020.
Yeah journos are shit.
The amount of peer-review hoops I've had to jump through for paragraph-long notes that basically amount to "found X frog 40km north of northernmost reported locality for X frog" just to have some journo casually completely misreport shit that millions of normies will believe as fact with no prior academic filter makes me extra salty.

That being said, Brazil specifically was noteworthy because even after adjusting for population size its infection and death rate fucking skyrocketed. They're one of the only countries in this whole pandemic to have a CFR to go up. The factors leading to this are complex but mostly boil down to Brazil trying to be too urban while spending way too little on healthcare modernization, it doesn't have the resources to pay people to stay home, and it doesn't have the resources to handle the uptick in cases.
That's really fucking strange and abnormal.
Most countries have had a declining CFR.
Higher risk of everything, because you're immunosuppressed. Things in reality are a bit more nuanced than that, but they got the gist right. Pregnant women are more susceptible to some infections due to how the body modifies and shares an immune system with the developing baby. A very tl;dr version is that the mother's body can't behave normally without risking rejecting the baby, and the baby doesn't need to have the same immune cells the mother has normally when it's born, but instead a more tailored concoction that helps fight off the kinds of infections babies are most vulnerable to. Rather than immunosuppressed it would be more like "immunochanged," if you'll pardon the garbage made-up word. Works for some stuff, not for others. Relevant chart here just to give a visual aid, third trimester is when the problems come.
So, yeah, news is garbage, but they're misquoting and paraphrasing a medical expert, at least, at least the underlying premise is there. Not scare tactics in and of itself, just a retarded way to frame fact.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I wasn't bemoaning the concept, as much the vagueness. It makes sense that a pregnant woman would be at higher risk of serious illness compared to a non-pregnant healthy woman of the same age & fitness category; but sans context it sounds like someone would be trying to claim preggo girls need to be scared like deathfats do - when there are far worse diseases that hit pregnant & neonatal demographics. (Shit, SARS-CoV-2's cousin and fellow Betacoronavirus OC-43 is particularly nasty for infants)

Assuming that article was what he was referencing, it actually wasn't that bad; but I wouldn't it past the rumor mill to be saying worse.
On that last bit, God I wish we could get to the point where that's the main topic for discussion instead of all this other shit. Control freaks are real, and they deserve capable, well-oiled opposition.
Yeah... I'm noticing you're actually not all that in favor of COVID restrictions, mostly just debating the pathology of it.

Yeah I'm going to say the dude was being an idiot and an asshole. Intentionally coughing on people and trying to get them sick is fucked up.
What if it turns out he didn't have COVID but actually fucking Hong Kong Flu or MERS?

Alternatively, what if his test comes back negative and it turns out he has regular flu or a rhinoviral common cold? WIll doomers & Branch Covidians still be calling for his head?

You really have a fetish for spreading stuff don't you, no wonder you dislike reality. Just keep your fetish to your self dude not hard,.

Wonder if the bug chasers will lead to another new covid strain.

COVID-19: Fires don't stop as bodies pile up in Delhi's ambulances and crematoriums
The dead are piled up in ambulances and rickshaws while distraught families say their goodbyes, Sky's Alex Crawford reports.

The heat is intense. The grief is palpable.
Fires just do not stop burning in the Indian capital, Delhi, right now.

The coronavirus dead are piled up in vehicles and ambulances and rickshaws - as India continues to set daily global records for new infections.

The bodies of COVID-19 victims are carried into a crematorium in Delhi

In one, there are three bodies wrapped in white cloth, string tightly wound round their necks, waist, knees and ankles.
Workers in the crematorium temple seem overwhelmed with the number of dead arriving and there's much frenzied activity.

The deceased are thoroughly sprayed with disinfectant while still outside, by a cremation team wearing hazmat suits, goggles and gloves.
They're then carried or lifted on stretchers from the street and into the next staging area. There are rows of deceased with exhausted funeral workers, volunteers and relatives hovering close by or sitting on benches which are hugging the walls.
Every few minutes while we're here, a body is stretchered through into the makeshift crematorium which has been created on open land next door.
That, too, is now full with burning pyres which form such an important part of the ancient Hindu funeral ritual. Young boys almost run in, pulling piles of wood behind them on cycle carts and tip their loads onto fresh patches of soil for yet more to be built.

"Jildi, jildi," they shout (quickly, quickly).
They're furiously building pyres to keep up, but the rapid pace means these sudden and shocking funerals are also hasty, often lonely affairs.
And yet they are crowded too - by rows of parallel pyres with individuals or couples all forced by events into swiftly saying their goodbyes to loved ones.
Few relatives are allowed in because of the coronavirus rules and partial lockdown in the capital. But there are so many funerals going on at once here that it is a far from private event - and there is talk of expanding further into the street if the level of deaths remains as high.

This is India - now the centre of the global pandemic - and in its capital city, each new COVID-19 death arrives less than four minutes after the last.
On Sunday, India reported 2,767 COVID deaths in the last 24 hours - its highest number so far. Total fatalities have now reached 192,311.
Some of the top hospitals - and some of the smaller ones too - are saying they're battling to save lives in the midst of an acute oxygen shortage.
Over the last few days, several have been putting out alarming pleas for help on social media, while others have said they can no longer accept patients.
One announced on Twitter that patients would have to be discharged and sent home if they didn't get any more supplies of oxygen.

The Yamuna Sports Complex in the city - which was converted into a COVID facility complete with almost 900 beds to help with the shortage of hospital vacancies was closed only days later.
A notice on the gate read: "Oxygen Beds are not available."
We found a rickshaw driver and his two daughters sitting outside in his tut tut. They'd spent around three months' salary buying their own oxygen cylinder which they'd purchased that morning and he was hooked up to it.
He was determinedly sucking on the air. "They've told us we cannot be admitted," his daughter Heena told us. "But this oxygen is already running out and we only got it a few hours ago."
Everywhere, rich or poor Indians are taking matters into their own hands to try to stay alive.
There were queues outside a small business which normally sells bottled gas to welders and contractors. Now, their customers are those who have COVID in the family or community.
The owner told us he suspects some are hoarding, but he asks no questions and no explanations are forthcoming. The crowd all had their own oxygen cylinders and all those we spoke to had sick relatives or neighbours they were buying for.
The cylinders are now like gold dust and they're selling on the black market at a price which is on average fourfold their normal level.

"It's heart-breaking but we Indians are fighting," one man told us.
"This is all on the government. If this had happened a year ago then it is understandable. No one knew back then. But they do now and they've had a year to prepare and they wasted it. So now we have no choice."
And India may not yet have reached its peak. That's forecast to come somewhere in mid-May.
These grim figures could keep on going up. As one commentator put it: it's not just a sharpish uptick. The country's coronavirus cases are shooting up like a straight wall.

On Sunday, India reported 2,767 COVID deaths in the last 24 hours - its highest number so far.

About 25,000 people a day die in India (based on a 7.2 per 1000 death rate)
So Covid deaths are currently a little over 10% of their daily death toll.

To put that in perspective, that's the equivalent of 661 deaths a day in the U.S.

Product Placement: thank you for pointing out, yet again, how bad the press are by sensationalising figures without context.

Every official source I've seen tells people to get vaccinated even if they've already had covid. Some politicians in my country were arguing about whether it's a waste or not recently because there are shortages and they still keep giving them to people who have already recovered.

10% extra deaths a day, dear god that is bad and that only the reported covid deaths as well. To think that 10%+ extra death could have been avoided if people and the government weren't idiots. You also got the people that have to deal with the side effects, crazy how badly they fucked up. Your post really showed how pointless all these extra deaths are, very sad.

Can you show me a record showing 10% extra deaths in India?

As we have seen with other countries, many people dying have co-morbidities (who would have died regardless).
And also reporting death due to Covid, even if they died of something unrelated like a heart attack or car accident.

Classic video, really gives a great glimpse into the giant open air sewer that is India.
Him almost getting lynched at the end really ties it all together.

the point was that i absolutely believe an extra 10 percent of deaths are being caused by the virus in India.
this video is so damning, i wouldn't be surprised if they were under-repoting it.

As I've said, India is full of fat, Westernized fucks who use their new-found middle class incomes to devour entire plates of curry and rice and shit. There's no culture of dieting, eating healthy, or exercise like in the West, it's all about eating the shit you rarely got as a kid and your parents only dreamed of. Add to that Western fast food like McDonalds and people are getting fat as hell. Many such cases in the developing world, see Mexico, Iran, or Egypt for similar instances.

The developing world is a fucked up, insanely unhealthy place, and the only thing the West has to challenge it is our own hamplanets and their arguably even worse rejection of health.

As much as I hate to reopen this bag of dicks...what the fuck now? (archive)

The study found that taking a povidone-iodine throat spray three times a day, or the oral drug hydroxychloroquine once daily, reduced the likelihood of getting infected by Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, by over 20 per cent.

The study was done by a team of clinician-scientists from the National University Health System (NUHS), led by Associate Professor Raymond Seet, a senior consultant in the division of neurology at the department of medicine in National University Hospital (NUH).

The researchers included infectious diseases experts Professor Paul Tambyah and Associate Professor Alex Cook, as well as Dr Amy Quek and Associate Professor Mikael Hartman.

i've heard saudi arabia is fat as shit these days.

Watch them pretend that the Bad Orange Man never talked about this.
Ackachually it was Biden who was calling for HCQ use while Drumpf wanted it banned.
Just like Drumpf was the one causing chaos & riots while Biden was supporting our brave officers of the law.
We've always been at war with Russia and Brazil.

Forcing a vaccine by law is under the the color of law you idiot. Also, you should be embarrassed for being such a weak kneed pussy. My great-grandparents and grandparents survived the Spanish Flu, the Russian Flu and Hong Kong Flu without screaming at everyone to wear masks, stay six feet away and get experimental treatments. My great-grandparents lived in a time without antibiotics so a damn cut could kill you yet they didn't go around masked and encased in Saran wrap, afraid to go out and do physical work or cut up a chicken before cooking it. Stop being a spineless wimp.

Even Drain Todger wasn't this much of a pretentious sanctimonious asshat.
And while he is still prone to essays, he comes across as less dislikeable, there's often some kind of interesting nugget of information buried in his rants, AND he had the balls to admit he was wrong.

Forcing a vaccine by law is under the the color of law you idiot. [snip asspained rant]
Good thing I didn't call for "forcing a vaccine by law," cuck.

You are apparently arguing that doctors and hospitals, facing the torrent of propaganda and social shaming encouraging Covid vaccination, are fucking OVER reporting compared to the flu shot? You offer no evidence for this, just your opinion. So I'll take this for what it is and ignore.

The Covid spike protein is pathogenic. We do know that the vaccines are causing sometimes fatal inflammatory responses and clotting disorders in susceptible individuals, this is not arguable. Why are folks dropping dead from hyper rare bleeding disorders when given these incredibly safe vaccines?

Last if you could answer whether or not you're in favor of children being vaccinated to protect fat people? There are 74 million children in the US. Anything from 1-4,000 will be killed if they're all vaccinated. Are 4,000 dead children a price worth paying to protect chronic over eaters from the coof? Take your time.
My objection has nothing to do with the accuracy of VAERs and everything to do with the voluntary element. "Any reporting" is not over reporting. The Flu vaccine is not an irregular vaccine under scrutiny, these vaccines are, as antivaxers reiterate over and over again. You aren't alone in this scrutiny. Your belief that doctors are simply shutting their eyes and not documenting anything even though every fucker in this thread has a "MY doctor TOLD ME that HE didn't THINK the MASKS work!!!!" story is laughable, and the fact that you believe it means you're more susceptible to vague big bubble conspiracy theory propaganda than your average doc. Add to this the fact that the old and infirm who are more prone to death by all causes are being vaccinated first while the Flu is mainly given to the young due to the difference in threat profile, and it turns out the stats look fine.
I don't care if you "trust the experts," but pretending you have a sufficient depth of knowledge to contest the current prevailing thought with a very cursory understanding of the subject (in case VAERS) is actively harmful to your ability to argue the point or address reality. I am humoring you and trying to explain these concepts with only a moderate level of snark because I think you and many other people who never heard of VAERS before 2020 are legitimately confused underneath the anti-health paranoia, not because you have made coherent objections to anything I have said about it.

Reiterating facts does not make them when they do not in fact support your beliefs. The paper you cited that claims (which I agree with) does not claim that vaccines for all the many many reasons I described. So far as the bolded portion, no fucking clue! No one actually knows at the moment and no one who claims to has passed peer review.
Do you know which vaccines cause "hyper rare bleeding disorders" (extremely rarely)? It's AstraZeneca/JnJ, and in case you didn't notice,

jnjhalt.png

The pause is ending on JnJ, but a warning is being added that you are literally required to inform the patients of before vaccination by law, and doctors are being advised to restrict it to people who have a more favorable cost/benefit, i.e. not younger white women who aren't obese or immunocompromised.
This is obviously a testament to how the system TOTALLY ISN'T WORKING by doing its job, though, right?

No, I am not in favor of children being vaccinated based on present evidence. Your 4000 dead children number came out of your ass, but I don't think the impetus is strong enough regardless of if it's zero, one, or four thousand. Thank you for actually asking me instead of simply stating I do and being wrong, even if you added on your smug retarded projection anyway.

Kindly stop verbally masturbating yourself in this thread. Most of us are here for the LOLz and to blow off a bit of steam. Not to wade through the massive loads of ejaculant cluttering up the thread from some boring blowhard. Be pithy and entertaining or go away!
You seem very fixated on cock. Just saying.

Yeah... I'm noticing you're actually not all that in favor of COVID restrictions, mostly just debating the pathology of it.
Now think long and hard about all of the faggots in this thread who keep pretending I am, and whether or not their hot takes on 'rona are based on some legitimate belief or just pure cope.
Airing my laundry again, I would have preferred extremely strict foreign travel restrictions in January/February/April 2020 pending the ability to rapidly test the population, and then thorough ("free," voluntary) mass testing efforts to identify hotspots, and to encourage targeted local, county-level restrictions voluntarily enacted by county-level government that addresses a specific spike instead of these statewide ones that just drag on forever and only modestly stifle spread.
Lockdown worked for China in a very limited sense, but it cost them their already limited liberty and thousands of lives aside from COVID, and the US has applied this bizarre half-way voluntary lockdown that people keep calling a "lockdown" when it's really just the feds glaring at you if you go outside, instead of picking something more appropriate for a free country. It's the dumbest possible approach.
You don't have to believe in some asinine "it's all made up!!!! just a flu bro!!!!" conspiracy theory to hold these views. They're perfectly justifiable based on the same facts everyone else on the planet is using, except maybe the WHO, who probably still doesn't think it's a pandemic.

And while he is still prone to essays, he comes across as less dislikeable, there's often some kind of interesting nugget of information buried in his rants, AND he had the balls to admit he was wrong.
I will happily admit I am wrong when one of you catches me on an honest mistake, instead of just making shit up you think I said because you can't. I'm here to learn, this is a COVID discussion thread, even if it's mostly just a tardhaven these days in practice.
Edit: I'll even offer one up free of charge, probably the closest anyone got was the callout on EUA vs FDA approval. I'm personally way too used to dealing with breakthrough therapy/accelerated approval, so when I talk about FDA approval I'm used to meaning "being approved by the FDA," not a full "FDA approval," which I can understand being confusing especially in this context. What I was trying to emphasize was that EUA still undergo thorough review of known facts before approval by the FDA, and have ongoing monitoring at the strictest level by the FDA, not that it was a full "FDA approval." It's a really weak thing to hit me with, let alone to attempt to discredit everything else I've said like a petulant child, but I probably should watch out on how I represent that particular bit of language. I'm not a medical writer and have no interest in becoming one and this is why, it's hard stuff.

So far all I've learned is that even of KF, some people will believe literally anything someone claiming to be an accomplished PhD says without checking their sources or receipts. That is to say, unless the paper is written by a credible expert in a credible paper and disagrees with the idea vaccines are cancer-killing turbo AIDS death engines, then it's part of THE PLAN.
Several times now I've had people @ me with papers that disagree with their own claims, and they quit talking about the subject whenever I pointed it out. Those people didn't have the balls to admit shit, thank you very much.
I've also learned that people hate to read on a website with OPs the length of small books. But only when the thing they'd have to read undermines their entire worldview, because they made hating vaccines & distrusting medicine into a personality. Who knew?

Japan seems to be getting worse with coronapanic - at least from what I can tell on Yahoo! JAPAN. In pics of people in public outdoors, they're always wearing "face masks". The cartoon mascots of the site wear "face masks". And there's always at least one story in the top headlines about the "pandemic", like "new cases".

I don't think I'd be surprised if the Olympics are postponed yet again - or cancelled - because of this endless BS.
