I think Asterios was awful most of the time. His highlight by far was Cuckmas Carols (and what a great highlight that was) but outside of that? He wasn’t very funny and was a spineless pussy as he straddled the line between Maddax’s Patreon base and his left wing comedy friends and lost both. I haven’t checked him out in a while but his hook was sperging out over corn mazes.

Asterios and Maddax’s falling out was the beginning of Dax’s retarded behavior as this falling out was handled poorly. This is a big part of why it took so long for people to think of Dax as a lolcow: he hung out with people more autistic than himself so he looked good by comparison. The falling out between the two of them is a lot more interesting in hindsight, especially as Dax used Marie as his shield during this time.

I hated Asterios to be honest. He was extremely unfunny, much more overt in his politics than Dick or Maddox (in the old show, that is) and overcompensated way too hard by eclipsing Dick at yelling into microphones.
That said, Dick absolutely needs a foil. Thats what made TBPITU so great. Both Maddox and Dick complemented each other in both personality and politics. They made each other better than they were by themselves.
Now, Dick has surrounded himself with a hugbox of alt-right grifters and libertarian right-wingers who agree with virtually everything he has to say, which has devolved him into another trite conservative grifter- Vito being the only token “liberal,” although I don’t know whats liberal about him besides his liberal perspective on age of consent...

When I said he could be funny I was mostly thinking of that stupid album he put out. The only reason I'd say he was more obnoxious than Vito when it came to politics is due to just how slimy his argumentation was - it was the whole "c'mon guys, don't you see how funny that would be?", to try and "win over" the audience to his political views.

I can only speak for myself, but the spectacle of the lolsuit caught my attention and was pretty fun for a second. However what really intrigued me was his Patreon numbers, which have never made sense. When I first started asking questions about that on KF, the topic was functionally verboten — you’d get neg-rated and ridiculed for just mentioning how the numbers didn’t seem to add up. I stuck with the thread to see what fuckery would unfold and how the Dax faithful would respond as his true colors started to show.

Funny is easy to come by, but it’s not especially intriguing. Dax’s masquerading as the internet’s most lucratively crowdfunded nobody made him and his dingleberries interesting to me. But the interactions between them, Josh and KF really made his thread worth following.

Dick kinda acts as a passive status effect for funny(sometimes) he fosters an atmosphere of humour at his best. There's no way to say he isn't funny but it's also kinda hard to put your finger on the exact moment because so much of the laughs come from who he is interacting with and how.

At one point, I even thought Maddox himself was funny. I actually still think both of them are funny, but for entirely different reasons now.

this is completely subjective, but when I got off drugs mid 2019, the show was suddenly no longer funny to me. It took me a while to realize this, but I don't think I ever found it funny. What I enjoyed about The Dick Show was that it re-enforced all my degenerate habits that I subconsciously knew I had to kick: LSD, booze, and porn. Dax's three favorite things in the entire world.

my theory is that Dax knows his show is a beacon for degenerates, and now that he's fading into perceived irrelevancy, he's begun to ramp up his outspoken support of sexual deviancy to keep the weirdos flocking to his Patreon.
