Does Wu have THIS many connections or is she secretly the irl Mass Effect Shadow Broker and she has dirt on everyone?
During her run working for the Republican Party circa 2006 or so, she learned what worked and what didn't from her parents and co-workers. She's extremely good at telling people what they want to hear and her specialty is confirming someone's internal confirmation biases. Without naming names, a few people have informed me that Wu used to be a
lot more respectable and was genuinely a better person before becoming a political extremist around the time she transitioned.
But that's neither here nor there. You want the nitty-gritty, the hows and the whys. So here goes:
Brianna Wu is a pathological ass-kisser who will do and/or say anything to secure power.
You can see constant examples of her fawning attitude towards those with legitimate authority every single time she has to suck up to get power for herself. There's dozens of examples of it now; look on Ghazi where she got the mod job solely because of the Literally Whos, she was the only senpai to notice GamerGhazi. Her first action as mod was to appoint Maddy Meyers, her personal stooge, as a subsidiary mod to look out for her own interests. This came to a head when even Ghazi called Jace out on her shit.
Look at the huge numbers of times she's tried to get people to meet with her for coffee or the like, trying to portray herself as more cosmopolitan and accessible than the other LWs. Look at Susan's Place, where she got into a mod position via being accessible and then ruled it like a fiefdom. In many ways, Wu is a scaled-up Vade as far as connections go.
Why does Wu still refuse to acknowledge being trans? Everyone knows it and she can surely milk it for some extra oppression points.
Because Wu is following the Rachel Dolezal/Andrea Smith line, claiming to be something she isn't so she's recognized as an authority. We tend to think of SJW-ism and modern third-wave feminism as part of the same beast, but that really isn't the case; transwomen are still
despised by a sizable part of the third-wave feminism docket. So long as
nobody ever calls her on her trans status on national television and force her to answer, she will never admit to it. Note that this basically was what
had to happen to expose both Dolezal and Smith, whose abuses were
well known and well documented, but would not have action taken against them until they were exposed in such a fashion.
This is one reason I've endeavored to not discuss Wu's reasons for transitioning nor Wu's reasons for hiding it. They're irrelevant, except as examples of how Wu is continually dishonest and arrogant.

That is the look of two people who just realized their career path has turned them into two of the most despised individuals on the planet. Anita looks at Quinn and thinks: "Holy shit, that was me years ago." Quinn looks at Sarkeesian and thinks "Oh god that's me in 20 years." I look at both and see credible arguments for homosexuality in males.
