Most other jobs would not allow him to pause work, have a brief pity party, and immediately pull in $150 towards his $400 target on 5 hours of actual 'work'.

Remember that dignity is not a factor here, and if he has any financial stress, it's because he is funneling a fortune to his dark mistress, Scopely.
I just can't get over how a human being would take this misery over a 9-5. He's not happy, he's just less pissed than he presumably would be if he had kept going with normie jobs forever.

Phil being legit worried about money can't come soon enough, because holy shit is it going to look decidedly different from what we're used to seeing...

Is it possible for a troll to manually adjust how much lag they get? Because Phil decided to let himself beat up a troll for once and he was lagging like a motherfucker.
Wouldn't be hard to fire up utorrent on your PC or something once you get into a game with Phil, but also I don't think Phil's internet is the greatest either

Phil is just that anti-social. The money is still absurd for a dude who does nothing but the bare minimum beyond playing games and sitting on his ass all day, but as we've seen with other matters like how absolutely hard he desperately is trying to avoid getting the covid shot, he may legit simply have a psychological aversion to just being a member of society.

Plus there really isn't a point to lag-cheating on Phil, even if he was EVO level years ago, his reaction times and general understanding of how to play the game has dimished greatly.

I'm still pretty convinced he wouldn't be a hermit today if somehow years ago people had tolerated his awful personality. He was always awkward and shy, but even he could have, and probably would have, gotten past that, were it not for the fact that once you get to know Phil, it's pretty much impossible to like him. And he has refused to fix that.

I wonder if that got him fired a time or two...

Phil seemed like a much better (and happier) person all those years back when he first moved into the khando, he even had friends come over and stay the night.

When he would film with the camcorder, at times he almost seemed like he liked video games, cracking jokes, (dumb, but better than the "jokes" he makes now I guess.), letting loose and having a drink, playing when he felt like it, ect. It's purely just to make ends meet now. In other words, it's for this $$$ right?
He's more financially fucked now. He gets money from fewer people, he blows it all on shitty WWE game, has to pay multiple years worth of back taxes, and keeps trying to pay for a house and a condo. I'd be miserable too if I was this financially stressed.

Apparently now people that charge back with a verified account lose their paypal account and will get charged with fraud according to him.

Phil sits on a used, broken couch/chair with a 420p camera, plays games that someone else paid for, and claims $5,000 a month in business expenses. If there's anything he's an expert in, it's fraud.

It's mostly noticeable when his mood suddenly improves after a huge donation of money, especially after the Tips Goal is met. The fact that some of our users can (rightfully) predict that there's a pre-scheduled tip coming in because Phil is oddly cheery while sitting at a low amount is proof of this.
Post-goal Phil is all smiles, over-reactions, and being okay with losing. Pre-goal Phil is non-stop guilt tripping and outright threatening his audience (I'm gonna quit, I mean it man! I'm not gonna keep streaming on Twitch if we don't hit the goal!)

He also has a problem with how mired he has become in his lies, hypocrisy, paranoia, and bizarre personal behaviors. He has so much to hide, and has laid out such a minefield with his jealousy-fueled rants over the years that he can't really do anything to grow his business without appearing to be a total hypocrite. He has no idea how to appear genuine or talk to people because he is so detached from reality. He can't move away from gaming or otherwise provide an engaging or entertaining personality because he has no life, hobbies, or ambitions outside of begging. His plan was to make mobile gaming his hobby - he admitted this. Why? You play real games for a job, pick a different hobby. Even movies and wrasslin' (the live kind, not the homoerotic bejeweled kind) made more sense and gave him more to talk about with people.

His only way out of his financial problems is to kick his addiction, or to be likeable and sincere so that his stream grows and he can find fulfillment there, but neither will allow the other to occur. So he just has a ball and chain around each ankle at this point - his addiction, and his vile personality.

From the way Howard was talking in that reply they made to Phil, a lot of Phil's close friends were starting to resent him, mainly because he couldn't balance their friendships with their business involvement.
That said, I think Rambo would have stuck around and did his best to keep Phil anchored for some time. At the very least, Rambo was providing Phil with a model to follow to maintain some human behaviors. Phil's move to Renton likely destroyed his life in many ways, not the least of which was that he severed relationships that he didn't even deserve to have to begin with, but desperately needed.

Also the more he lies....the more things he will inevitably become paranoid about. For example, he has lied so much about not having a WWE champions account that now he can only silence people instead of addressing it. It will only get worse as time goes on and that's why Phil is trying to brainwash his piggies fast so he can keep control over them and their wallets.
