The KickVic shit was basically an attempt at another gamergate style event, the only problem was it was focused solely around non-union anime dubs. Even the most hardcore of anime fans ignore these dubs, so you had to be a mega autist to even be familiar enough with Vic(or exclusively watched FMA on Adultswim) and you had to actually care about it, which no one did,
Nick Rekieta saw it as a milking opportunity and got involved, which is why the thread here got as much interest as it did, but even then it was more about right vs left politics than an actual alleged smear campaign to fire a guy. To add more to the how little it mattered, in the voice over world, anime dubs are the equivalent to working at McDonalds. Even an Applebee’s employee has more prestige on you.

tl;dr KickVic was a massive waste of time that only the most extreme of autists or grifters actually cared about.
