It's hilarious to me that even after being fucked over twice, Bernie Bros are still throwing in with the Dems.

I mean, let's face it, Bernie had zero chance in 2016. For that matter, anyone who wasn't named Hillary Rodham Clinton had zero chance. It was Her Turn™ and she wasn't about to let some old kook from Vermont take that away from her. Superdelegates always go to the establishment candidate from the start, and nobody's more establishment than Hillary.

But then 2020 comes around, and without the lich around, it was anyone's game, as that clown car primary showed. Bernie was actually doing pretty well and clinched the first three primaries, which historically meant that he was pretty much a lock for the nomination. But TPTB want a candidate they can control, so they very obviously forced all the "moderate" establishment-type candidates out (likely with promises of positions in the new administration; see: Bootyjudge) so that those votes would coalesce around ol' Joe, while keeping Fauxcahontas in long enough to siphon away the progressive vote from Bernie to cut his momentum. Add in the superdelegates that were already going to the establishment pick, and once again Bernie Bros got screwed.

(As an aside, Joe was certainly not the establishment's first choice. They wanted another Obama, someone young and charismatic, preferably ticking off a bunch of diversity checkboxes. Basically, they wanted someone that they could put up against the old white guy Trump to show how cool and progressive and diverse they were. The problem was that all of the candidates that ticked those boxes were horrendously unpopular with the general public (with the possible exception of Surf Mommy, but after kneecapping Kamala they weren't about to support her). None of them could manage better than single-digit support, and no amount of fraud could push any of them over the line. Remember, Kamala didn't even get above single digits in her own state, and she dropped out of the primaries before the first vote. Joe was their backup plan, and once it was clear that they didn't have any other options, they pulled out all the stops to get him the nomination.)

Yet despite all this, as soon as 2024 comes around, the Bernie Bros will dutifully vote blue no matter who, despite the clear disdain their party has for them. Many such cases. Sad!
