I wouldn’t be surprised. And, of course, once her hands are gone, those wounds will all magically heal normally and disappear. It’s almost as if she was doing something herself to cause her injuries.

Ballerina with super rare disease that nobody knows about it getting her legs amputated.
This just has a bad Lifetime movie written all over it. Except they'd make it all dramatic and how her life is crashing down around her but she's going to wind up in a wheelchair and the handsome man who's in charge of her rehab is going to convince her that life is worth living and she's going to go on to become the first legless ballet star out there. Either that or wind up teaching it to great acclaim.

Most newbies to this thread (like me) aren't even seeing what a fucking body horror job she did to her legs without the bandages to cover them. I just got back from searching for the images and I'm legitimately scarred by them, probably the worst graphic wound shit I've ever seen that isn't white phosphorus burns.

Seems the time has come
Peep the black slippers on the ground, with the big velcro straps. The only people I ever see wearing those slippers are (a) fatties, (b) old people with vascular disease/diabetes/heart failure/edema from circulatory issues, and now (c) Kelly.
Horrifying that she could've still been weight-bearing at this stage of her illness.
Like she legit woke up this morning, styled her hair in braids, put on a pair of geriatric slippers and went to the hospital to get her legs amputated.

there's something incredibly more visceral in my mind about shit like this when it's self inflicted. Shit happens in conflict and nature and my brain gets that and can reconcile the graphic nature of that. But this is pure insanity and my rational mind immediately NOPES out.

As people have said upthread, it started with little sores which she picked into big sores. The amount of tissue that she has removed over the years is enormous. She had surgery a few years ago where they moved some muscles around and put on skin grafts, then she promptly ripped those apart and was worse off than before the surgery.
The supposed mechanism with her feet is that she fucked up the circulatory system in her legs and got compartment syndrome.

I honestly think she's scared, i think she didnt mean for it to escalate to this. But picking at nerves, picking at skin grafts, aggravating your wounds seems more like a compulsion gone too far and normalising the appearances for far too long rather than a psychotic reaction. She doesnt have the same sensibilities of someone such as emo cutter girl (https://encyclopediadramatica.wiki/index.php/Emo_Cutter_Girl) who mutilates their body.
She'll still be mobile with one of this springy legs imo, but i feel she's going to retard up her thighs next after the shins are gone
