they're busy smothering infants and giving spry old ladies insulin overdoses.I hate munchies and they should just fucking nut up and kill themselves. Where are the "angel of death" serial killers when we need them?
munchies are the worst to deal with; I fucking hate it too. I'd love to see it categorized as reason for involuntary commitment, but it's unlikely. They're just that good at manipulation of both the system (medical workers, paperwork, doctor shopping) and of charities (sympathy, ignorance).
Until psychiatrists can just hold them and throw the chemical straightjacket on, they'll keep on doing it. Until doctors have red flag lists, they'll keep doing it.
The trouble is that any list made will inevitably catch in it people who have rare but legitimate illnesses. The very fact that they are rare makes their treatment harder and doing too much about munchies could kill people who are actually sick. It's a tightrope.
In medicine we err on the side of doing less harm. It's better to treat a handful of munchies, who don't need a damn thing, than let a single person fall through the cracks and miss a diagnosis that's real.
It's why fatigue and bruises, as a pattern, can get you a CBC and leukemia screening instead of just "go home, faker". It's how we diagnose the people we can save. So dealing with this batshit behavior is just something we put up with in the process.
Look at the Hartley veggies. If we're going to offer care to terminal infants we've got to allow care for brainless blobs. It's a side cost of being humane to patients.
All that said they should have strapped this bitch down months ago and her arms should be strapped down from now until some future year.
