Out of everything what gets me most is the Theroux stuff at the end. I distinctly remember the times years ago when Richard Spencer got mocked for being stupid enough to invite media camera crews to his home and to private events, and got mocked most by people like Nick who was especially high on optics at the time. Spencer and his friends there on camera slumped over and drunk in lounge chairs, etc. It should've been obvious how he would be made to look they all said. And yet this is so much worse.
How much footage does Theroux have after following Nick and his group around? Whole days worth? Nick is most comfortable on his show and he even slips up with his optics there. Does he think there won't be any candid shots of him sitting around or walking around with his droopy resting bitch face? Or parts where he lets his insecurities slip in a way that can be put back to back with another shot of him talking about his views, to make it look like those insecurities are the cause of his views? They don't even have to get him on anything specifically. They can just put footage of him back to back with footage of awkward people like Vince James or that half black guy at AFPAC 2. I couldn't believe what I was watching when I saw those guys on stage, and I'm sure the camera crew caught them looking even more oblivious off stage. He's surrounded by liabilities.
Just like
@SBG said, it's whatever if they just get him on being "racist". It's a lot worse if they get him looking cringe and uncool, and there'll be a lot of material there for that. What a retarded idea to allow it at all. I can't tell if it's plain desperation for attention or just pure hubris.
