Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Show me it doesn’t work then when it has shown to cause lasting damage to people who have gotten COVID. The vaccine is meant to last maybe one and a half years.

You’ll be hurting others who refuse to help themselves, not me. Fatties like you who will no doubt catch it from constant physical contact in public spaces will suffer far more.
Lol no. 3 months. There are already instances where if you got the shot more than 3 months ago you're told it's no longer effective or doesn't count. I personally know of nursing homes where if you got vaccinated more than 3 months ago you can't enter. I have spoken to contact tracers in my state regarding my employees who may have been exposed and been told if their shots were more than 3 months ago they have to quarantine for 2 weeks.

They aren't publicizing it now because it will put more people off getting vaccinated, but you will need "booster" shots 2-3 times a year. And since the goal now is nothing less than total eradication, this will be for the rest of our lives.

I'm not too familiar with violin plots myself, but I guess it's basically a distribution.
X axis is ct value, y axis is amount, and the plots are all normalized to have the same area in them.
On the x axis there is a box plot showing median and upper and lower quartiles. The lower quartile denotes the value below which 25% of the data points are. The median, or second quartile, is where 50% of the data points are below, and the upper quartile is where 75% are below.
So let's take a look at the second violin plot, non-vaccinated, never positive, 1-21 days before vaccination.
You see a long distribution which a heavy bump at a ct of 33 or so. That means the frequency of tests in that group with a ct around 33 is much higher than the frequency of tests with a ct of, say, 10 or 20.
The median of this plot is somewhere around 31 or so. So 50% of the data points have a ct below 31. That also means half the data points have a ct over 30. With 613 total positive tests here that means half of those positively tested people are practically non-infectious.
The lower quartile in this plot is around 27. So only 25% of the data points are below 27, and 27 is already pretty high when it comes to ct in PCR tests.
Now of course the ct of the test depends on when you do the test, and it can change over the next days. But all in all, at the time of the test it's pretty clear that around half of the tests are most likely not infectious at all, and the numbers are bloated.
Even in the uppermost violin, the one with unvaccinated people >21 days before vaccination, the lower quartile is at 20 and the median at 28. That's still nearly half of those tests with pretty high cts, so those 10k positive tests are maybe 5k dangerous.
I hope that kinda explained it?
And I hope I'm even correct on this, these kind of statistics aren't my main thing, either...
jeesus christ have you ever successfully explained anything to anyone ever? Fuuck

Just say the Cycle Threshold (CT) settings which basically means how many amplification cycles the test does are way too fucking high and giving a fuck ton of false positives. We've known the PCR tests are fucked for over a year now, this study just showed that fact in greater detail.

I've been asked to be part of a test group to see how people with X condition respond to the vaccine, it's a condition that was excluded from earlier trials. From what I understand, they just want to do antibody tests before and after and my place on the priority list won't change.

I'm going to wait and see what they want me to sign.

Yeah, but it's a rare occasion :D
I usually explain things to academics and kinda forgot what people from other branches of life tend to know.

I've posted this in A&N, thought I should put it here too.

OSHA Imposes New Guidance For Employer-Required COVID-19 Vaccines

"If I require my employees to take the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of their employment, are adverse reactions to the vaccine recordable?

"If you require your employees to be vaccinated as a condition of employment (i.e., for work-related reasons), then any adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine is work-related. The adverse reaction is recordable if it is a new case under 29 CFR 1904.6 and meets one or more of the general recording criteria in 29 CFR 1904.7."

In response, several large contractors said they have changed or will change their vaccination policy to only recommend—not require—a vaccine.

They sure love that magical six million number

Times like this I miss @Otterly and their informative posts.

This was brought up earlier how those forced to receive a vaccine by their employer could sue them if they received an adverse reaction, and I guess the government is attempting to answer that. This might mean airlines, trains, and buses will never require them for the same reason smoking is banned--airlines at least were successfully sued by flight attendants who got lung cancer because they had to work around people smoking all day. A lot of anti-smoking laws are in place because of non-smoking employees suing over it.

My hope is that someone finds themselves barred from some place because they don't have a vaccine passport, has an adverse reaction, and then sues since that business has technically harmed them. If that opens a flood gate of lawsuits then we'd never see this vaccine passport bullshit anywhere.

Okay y'all.
I'm scheduled to get the first part of whichever experimental vaccine they're handing out at a nearby grocery store.
If you don't hear from me again, assume that I've been smooshed by Chinese rocket debris or kidnapped by some youth culture movement. Those sound more interesting than death by injecting anti-coof serum.

Edit - I got the first part of the Pfizer thingy. The bandaid I got with it is irridescent and shiny. It's been about 2 hours and I feel okay. A little wobbly but I haven't had lunch yet so it's probably from that. Next dose is supposed to happen in three weeks. We'll see what happens then I guess.

Edit 2 - it's been about 9 hours since vaccination. I feel yucky. Dizzy af, and tired. This is bullshit.

Edit 3 - 2 hours since last update. Low fever, chills. This is still bullshit.

Edit 4 - 25 hours since vaccination. Feeling a little tired but otherwise okay. Arm where shot was given feels like I was kicked by a mule and knocked into a brick wall. Sore from shoulder blade to fingers. Bullshit lingers.

Edit 5 - 31 hours after vaccine. Arm feels better but the being a "little tired" turned into the same sort of fatigue I had with Covid. Just getting out of my chair felt like my soul was going to crumble. Bullshit springs eternal.

Edit 6 - 49 hours after vaccine. I feel back to normal, but I overate at breakfast so I have calorie guilt. Bullshit managed for now.

I opened the newspaper this morning up here in Leafland, which I rarely do, but there was one nearby, and it was a slow morning. Amongst the numerous stories related to Covid, which is most of the stories in the paper, one really stood out to me. A woman, despite being hesitant, went ahead, and got the AstraZeneca vaccine. That's it, that's the whole story. This woman, who is not of any particular note, got a vaccine, and, in a statement to the paper she said, and I'm paraphrasing, but this is approximately what she said, "I got the vaccine so we can go back to normal more quickly. The more people get the vaccine, the safer everybody is." Brave words, really. A pretty standard Covid propaganda quote was being attributed to a human woman, that may or may not exist. I know I'm putting on a tinfoil hat, but they included a picture of her, and she looked like a standard, white, upper-middle class, suburban mom in her 40's. That, plus the quote, plus the sheer mundanity of the story makes me think it's nothing more than a piece of propaganda disguised as a news story. Maybe I'm wrong, but man, it felt weird to read

I believe literally nothing that the teevee and the government tell me.

I suspect that the vaccination roll out isn't going how they want it to, I also think that the 100 million vaccinated number is bullshit. They lie about everything else so why wouldn't they be lying about this?

We're heading into the soft coercion phase. They want the shelf sitters to get the jab through a mixture of bribery and 'show us your papers'. That's likely to ramp up over the next few months, then they'll take the gloves off. They really, really want everyone to get vaccinated, which makes me really, really not want to.

That's definitely already in full swing. I was out to eat last night (none of the staff were masked, and only one group of diners was; felt good to be in the majority) and I happened to see the CBS evening news on one of the TVs there. Couldn't hear it, but one of the stories was talking about all the bribes being handed out for vaccinated people that we've discussed here before, like free booze and free hair salon appointments. The headline was something like "Incentives for COVID Vaccines as Vaccinations Slow," which is idiotic to me. Of course vaccinations are going to slow down eventually because you're gonna run out of unvaccinated to stick a needle in. No amount of incentives are going to change that fact.

And now they're massaging/outright fabricating the death numbers and claiming the coof is even deadlier than we thought to scare people into getting jabbed. May God have mercy on us, because Lord knows the powers that be won't.

:story:
So foreigners bringing in a strain from South Africa are affecting a few vaccinated people. Most of those affected are unvaccinated with a few targeting vaccinated people. Cases are still plunging in areas where people get vaccinated like in England or France.
Sounds about right, trying to make it seem like it’s not worth it, usual anti vax rhetoric.

The moment they make vaccines mandatory or push hard for gun control is the moment Ill start playing my papa roach cds to express my displeasure.

> When China respects the right to bodily autonomy more than your government
they just had Ron DeSantis show up in their "popular thing" feed, and the bootleg algorithm did its thing
What ever happened to that faggot that use to walk around Florida beaches dressed as the grim reaper?
iirc he was facing a Bar investigation, but probably nothing more than a stern talking to
