1. Those dime-a-dozen serial killer channels with women making dumb faces in the thumbnails. I don't know any of their channels by name, but you probably know what I'm talking about. They mostly appeal to girls.

This goes for way beyond just True Crime YTers, but I can't tell you how many times I didn't watch a video because of the faggy annoying thumbnail they slapped on it.

Alright, so check this out: I typed in the name of a famous missing person in Youtube, and these were my top 3 results....

That Chapter plastering his beta face in the thumbnail against some illegible photo, some completely irrelevant bitch with lots of makeup as the main thumbnail image, and some ditzy bimbo discount Jennifer Aniston in the center. Keep in mind that none of these 3 people displayed prominently are Maura Murray, a.k.a. the missing girl in question. To be perfectly honest, this is actually really disrespectful to the victim.

I hate to get all edgelord, but the female interest in true crime and the way they obsess over stupid details makes alot of what passes for true crime pretty unreadable. Look at the programs they play on Investigative Discovery, and how that channel went to shit when it started to pander toward a female audience. Everything got less serious, focused on dumb salacious details, etc.

It goes way beyond YT and TV channels like ID though, I've seen more than one True Crime forum become dull when the female audience started to dominate threads with their inane 'theories'.

I'm more than happy to get all edgelord, I think the discrepancy between their virtue signaling especially with That Chapter and the twitter politics he wedges in every fucking video, and editing a thumbnail complementing a murderer/victim/scene with your STUPID FACE. Bailey Sarian is also an avid Twitter activist, and the way they trivialize actual tragedies with their thumbnails while taking everything their commenters and twitter followers are offended by so seriously, pick a lane. Fuck you Stephanie Harlowe, your commentary adds less than nothing to the entire Shannan Watt's case, it probably hits close to home for you because you have an mlm fetish you wonky eyed biiiiiiiiitch. Kendall Rae needs to use a different angle in her videos because I respect her truth as a bootleg Jennifer Anniston pushing 200 lbs she obviously films 2 inches away from her face to conceal those elbees, but her make up is real crusty. I don’t like Drew Gooden’s videos, I hate Kurtis Conner. I like Danny Gonzalez. I think Drew’s shtick about being a man baby is funny for approximately 1 minute in 2015. Drew’s videos are pretty boring because they lack Danny’s editing, I never found them that similar at all.

Funny you say that, I like Drew but I stopped enjoying Danny Gonzalez' videos for no real reason. It just sort of happened. Can't stand Kurtis for the life of me.

One channel I'm beginning to hate is alienbacon, for those who haven't heard of the channel it's basically a collab channel founded by Elvis The Alien and BionicPig, the reason I'm beginning to hate them is because of how they will get political for no reason and this can be seen in their "Revisiting TikTok Cringe" back in February where they claimed that Trump supporters "were a cult" because of some Qanon tard threatening to rip a woman's license plate off. Dude makes some amazing content and i love his deep dives into animated films but a lot of his editing humor (mainly coming from his time making youtube poops) falls flat for me and his constant references make him hard to recommend to people who don't watch a ton of disney.

He also keeps making really shitty and out of place political parts like in his recent Every 2000s Disney Movie Ranked video, where he reaches princess and the frog before going into a mini rant about Disney turning POC leads into animals (ignoring the fact everyone else in films that do that like emperors new groove and princess and the frog are the same race) and then doing a really unfunny joke about how he fucked up a line a ton with annoying sound effects for longer than it needed to be.

I still watch his content but its becoming clear that hes gonna become more and more political until he loses everything.

This probably isn't going to be a substantial nor coherent reply, but I thought I would mention him again.

While he isn't my least favorite, I recently went and unsubscribed to him after watching his review of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He has been becoming increasingly more retarded in terms of his takes and personally, it has culminated into that video. It only took 81 seconds for him to say some anti-cop rhetoric for no reason. The police in the US very clearly need checks and balances (The Blue Wall of Silence is a cancer that rots most possibilities of police accountability) and even more training. However, it's always these losers who are either in the arts (Like Schaffrillas with his YTP, literal theatrics, and video essays) or in cushy, tech-related white-collar jobs that spout this bullshit. You know, the folks who are the furthest away from street crime and thus least often wronged by the police.
While I do believe these random police encounters caused by heated arguments do end up targeting black people (Likely especially in the south), it's not "realistic" like he wants to convey. They would have recognized Sam and maybe Bucky and then would have turned their sirens off and left. If they did want to have this dumb scene, they should have had it with Bucky and Isaiah Bradley - the two people in this show who have been wronged by the system itself. It would have displayed that Bucky, a white man, is socially able to get away from his own awful past (Even if it was no fault of his own) as well as the one he had with system while Isaiah, a black man, is still dealing with the system (in a different form) in present time even in old age. This is purely for the message the show was going for however, I don't believe any of that. The OJ Simpson trial established that a black man can get away with the same shit a white man can if he has enough money. The Derek Chauvin trial established that a white man, even one that's a police officer, can be incarcerated for things he never did (The only somewhat reasonable charge against him was 2nd degree manslaughter, and I still have my doubts over that.).

Also, he fucks up a lot of Walker's character. This is what honestly sold me on disliking his content because it showed he wants absolutely no nuance whatsoever. He brutally killed another (Albeit more moderate) Flagsmasher in a blind rage after his best friend and partner was murdered, so he must be a bad guy and remain and evil do-no-gooder for the history of forever! It was shown over the course of the show that Walker wanted to become Captain America and likely joined the US military in the first place to do good. His rudeness to Sam and Bucky, progressively growing ego over holding the title of Captain America, ballistic rampage against that Flagsmasher, and the fight over the shield was to show that not only was he not Steve Rogers, but why Steve chose Sam in the first place. The final episode was to show that Walker is a still a good person and at worst an anti-hero. If anything, saving the people wasn't a redemption, but rather an enforcement of what his core character traits are. Going after Karli would have finished h-is descent into being a full-on villain (Abandoning his morals for revenge). Also it shows that Schaffrillas doesn't do his research because there's a lot of comic content on John Walker that could help him understand what road they could take with him.

Those were my two major gripes. Dude is nosediving really fucking hard. He wants to be professional but simultaneously allows these really terrible video edits onto his channel. So there's that too. But you already said that. There is indeed a sweet spot that you can hit to mix silly and serious and he very clearly does not know where it is.

They don't want to catch any push back in the likely event of one of their sped fans harassing the subject of their video. And to be fair the fallout of letting such an incident occur even once can stick for a very, very long time. I do agree that most of them overdo it and they'd be served well with just one, simple disclaimer right at the beginning of the video. Don't really need three plus "don't fondle the feces, don't poke the retard I mean it guize" disclaimers before you even get to the point.
