Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

OK, r8 me l8, but... Can you really not choose which vaccine you get? I'm not planning on getting poked at all, but I thought there was SOME leeway.

A very interesting story. Believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. Public school districts can get money from the state for each student-day in school, apparently either online or resident. When students are deserting schools in the fashion described, the resulting loss of state aid dollars can have a serious impact on the school district's budgeting. This year can see help from Washington, but should students keep deserting schools, the school districts may have some real financial trouble.

They should keep deserting and go homeschooling. Let's hope then it'll accelerate the burst of the "education bubble" or that'll give a big slap as a wake-up call to schoo districts.

Edit: I menaged to archive that Yahoo article. https://archive.ph/L4tY6

They've been complacent for too long and I'll admit to enjoying the schadenfreude of watching them go up against the millinials who remember how shitty their own experiences were.
For so long school districts and older administrators have been banking on "Oh well don't you remember your own childhood? Don't you want that for you kids?" and now that we're starting to see parents who went to school in the 90s those same tactics are starting to backfire.

tl;dr This is one evil fucking cult

I've noticed a cult-like tendency throughout American (lack of) culture. From communes to woke, from marketing scams to the scamdemic, it's as if many Americans are naturally attracted to the cult. And of course it seems the most cults in the modern world come from America, like Scientology and Heaven's Gate.

It could be a Western thing in general, but especially in America for some reason.

Maybe it's because the Puritans were cultists?

This is relatively common knowledge. In homeschooling circles it's recommended to check if your local school district is logging your homeschooled kids as attending classes. They will do that. This is why school choice measures are so fought against by the beast. It would be strike to the jugular of the state-run trash indoctrination centers.

Holy shit, really?

Depends on the distributor of the vaccine, how you sign up, probably a ton of other things like the specific state processes, too. Most of the time, they go with the "you don't get to choose your poison, you fucking plebeian rube, you show up and take what the State says you have to take."

But at least in Florida, Publix vaccinates with both Modern and J&J and you choose which one you want to get when you sign up online for a slot. You can also probably call the different distributors (e.g. Winn Dixie, CVS, etc. in Florida) and see which one they're licensed to give out (if I recall correctly, Winn Dixie is J&J so when you sign up with them, you know you're getting that). When searching for a J&J distributor, I generally saw that the places that give out all the vaccines don't make any distinction between them when you sign up. So those are the ones to avoid, since they'll just give you whatever they have—tough luck if you don't want an mRNA serum put in your body.

Look we've already had enough lectures from "smarter than you" farmers explaining that the vaccines are safe, several lectures about how VAERS is not reliable and does NOT mean anything bad can be traced back to our pure vaccines, and at least 50 examples of why all the disinfo about the vaccines is tinfoil hat level nuttery!

So I just wanted to let you guys know that a lot of "vaccine bad reaction" videos like these are making the rounds. They are not to be trusted, and please do not watch! We must reach 110% levels of vaccinated before we can even begin to think about lessening restrictions in a hundred years. TRUST THE SCIENCE!!!!

Pro tip for anyone outside of California wanting to visit Disneyland - They're only blocking ticket sales to non state residents via IP addresses and if you use a VPN to have a California IP you're good as gold as they're not checking ID's at the gate.
Disney resorts are currently level 10 mask karens nazi zones. They can get fucked, plenty of other places to go that don't require face diapers.

Having to work all day with these masks on is fucking with me(i'm not even a nurse). I'm so done. wear the mask if you want but I just can't keep up anymore.
I have rash. I'm getting friction marks too.
Friend of mine has to wear custom designer masks for his work and they are digging in his face.
I had to vent...

We no longer have "late" reactions for some reason, but late.

I've failed a couple workout routines at the gym cause I couldn't get enough air, but neither do I want to cause a giant fuss for my gym owner, so I went to Hobby Lobby over the weekend and bought 1/4 yard of black mesh. I triple folded it, so you can't see through it, stitched it up during a movie, and tried it out at the gym this morning. It's great. Almost like not wearing a mask at all and nobody gave me any trouble. I also went to the thrift store, and raided the scarf rack, for the thinnest, dark gauze scarves and I'll be making a second mask out of those for situations where people might notice the mesh mask.

They're so mask nazi that my neck gaiter wasn't good enough.

I would agree with you on not wanting to come here but somebody else paid for my park ticket for the day so I can't really complain.
