Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Trump has something absurd and unprecedented like 97% approval among likely GOP voters. It's insanely delusional to think any establishment Rino has a chance.

I believe its too early for DeSantis to run. DeSantis will not have the power of lulz and topkek that Trump has. Plus RINOs would be glad for DeSantis because he has at least served one term as a congressman compared to Trump who doesn't give a fuck and was a complete outsider. So it was no issue for Trump to call Mitch McConnell a son of a bitch lol. I don't see DeSantis doing any of that stuff. Plus the media hasn't roasted him hard yet like they did to Trump.

It’s probably closer to bipolar than anything else. On one hand, you have an administration that likely clamours for anything resembling legitimacy. I’m going to remember the hundreds of thousands of votes appearing at 4 in the goddamn morning for a long time. A lot of people probably will. In a sane world the ruling party would try to lessen their concerns, render aid, help... but that dovetails into the other hand.

They’ve bred the base in such a way that pithy gestures no longer pacify them. The things they have to do as appeasement now involve nuking entire industries. Keystone was a major point of contention throughout the Obama years and Biden tanks it day one, making ten of thousands of people unemployed in an instant during an economic downturn.

Do you try to deescalate a situation that you know has the potential to fuck you long-term or keep giving meat to your borderline Salafist brownshirts so they don’t burn the whole operation to the ground? Sounds absolutely paralyzing.

I remember counting the Biden votes flood in PA over the week despite Trump leading by some 750k by the end of Election Day. Shit is frustrating and I doubt they will ever be able to pull off such a glaringly obvious stunt again. If it is any consolation however you are correct on the Dems digging themselves a very deep hole with their rabid association with Leftists who more than not antagonize the moderates and general public with their ideology that only gets support from left wing media outlets.
